I've never heard of one of these gorgeous little trees, Gypsy, but it sounds like it would be right up my alley. My thumb is about as green as gasoline--not very!--and every plant I try to grow seems to die. perhaps it's just the host doing the planting.

If it's easy to care for, then that's the tree for me. I'm going to try and find one. They're so cool looking!

Thanks for the info, and for sharing this with us all.

~Dean :)

Thank you Dean, I appreciate your review. This kind of plants bring good luck and they are easy to grow, even for someone with gasoline thumbs LOL

Dean, you want to hear something funny. When I wrote the haiku this morning, I was looking at my money tree (is a plant) and it leans to the right. Now people think it is a political statement. LOL
reply by Dean Kuch on 10-Jul-2015
Well, I have to admit, I almost did too. I think it's because you used the word "money", coupled with a phrase about leaning toward the right, or conservative side. Then I realized you were simply making an observation, and not trying to make a statement.

I use to have a money tree... it died, just as my luck with money. Lol. Your poem describe and paints a picture of the care of these interesting plants.

Excellent Poem! The first two lines of this poem flow and connect well. The last line had the reader look more closely at the money tree. The artwork is perfect and compliments the theme of this poem. Thanks for the author's notes!

I liked how you put the care for the plant in the author's notes, it really helped understand what a money tree was, and the poem was beautiful; well done

I've a money tree
But it does not look like yours
Mine's in pounds sterling

I just wonder why
There should be this difference
Mine has fleshy leaves

What is the reason
Your leaves are a lighter green
Is yours in dollars

This is lovely. I also enjoyed your notes. This could have deeper meanings, makes the reader think. Why was it leaning yo the right? Was it a play on words? Have you thought of losing the smaller connecting words like; to and the? It allows you to add more but also, each word, since there are so few, have to really punch.

Like
timid plant grows right
Just a thought! :)

Nice little poem... I wish money did grow on trees...I would certainly grow one and be very diligent about its care. I hope yours is leaning only because it enjoys the sunshine..not because its a little under the weather........Thank for sharing..enjoy your day! Sam

Hi again Gypsy Blue Rose from Madrid. Your words and color scheme format definitely brought life to the picture. I have to disagree that the money tree is easy to grow only cause I lack the green thumb heh heh.. I love the direction though on "leaning to the right." It's a positive message that sends subliminal thoughts to focus on the root rather than the symptom of any problem. At least, that's my interpretation. Good luck with this little treasure of a Haiku. Your Fanstory friend..Ben and Hasta la proxima.
