It is lovely that you are able to say that you are content where life has taken you and that you are now at peace with yourself. That is a great gift. I enjoyed reading this well written poem. All the best, Ulla

I think in life we are all on a journey which gives me hope that at some point n our lives that journey will lead us somewhere, the only down side is that we must all grow old which is the natural process of life. Another great piece, Roy, I couldn't find any faults. Thanks for sharing...Jacob

A very nice poem that this reader enjoyed.
An easy read with a fine pace.
Each verse flowed to the next line that did rhymed.
Your images are great.
Thank you.

Hi Roy,
With age comes wisdom.
With faith comes sight.
The dreams of youth really don't mean much at all in the grand scheme of things. I look at kids today with all their possessions and think 'were we like that?' Maybe but not so much, and now, family and love is where it's at.
I really liked this piece.

This rhyming poem has a steady-sure pace, easy to follow, easy to read; the theme is peaceful, wise, wholesome, the bar set high.
My life's content as is my soul.
It feeds my soul my spirit's glow,
(these together... the second 'soul' drew my notice as a word, the close proximity of the other soul)
those tattered dreams(,)? that maze of truth,
(maybe comma here, I wondered?)
Consigned to chance, and doomed to fall.
(really liked expression of the release of material happiness through this section of the poem. I really like my natural reaction to the rhymes, not drawing my attention that they have to rhyme, they come off as the word that belongs there and happens to rhyme. The rhymes didn't feel forced)
It's only love that makes one whole.
(A nice end to this poem, I thought of a song I just heard ... gaaawwww, I can't remember the words or name, but the Form of the song is the same Form of the line here, beyond everything, love. A very easy to relate to emotion, being bigger and more rich and satisfying than anything materialistically tangible.)

Hmm, there is a lot of truth in what you've written and many people would agree with the sentiments behind your words. Love is important to a good life. Nicely done.

This is a lovely read Royowen, and we, the readers, can sense your contentment with your life and the way it has progressed as each verse progresses. Really enjoyed this one.

Age happens to everyone but it's all about how you embrace it because it can eat you alive of you can learn to live with all the crack, aches and pains and still enjoy your life. I honestly can't wait to sit on our front porch in a rocking chair, no I don't either yet, and watch all the neighbor kids outside playing. Yep, I have an old heart what can I can say.

Oh, I DO like the message behind this poem -- and it's funny to me that the brilliance of it only grows brighter as one advances in age. *smile*
You've done a wonderful job summing up the TRULY important things in Life. Kudos! - robyn
