This is one of the best dedications I've seen, so original and unique it kinds of makes us realize an incredible truth because some of the greatest truths and wisdom would never be written but that is just what makes it so great.

I like the fresh thought that not all important things are passed along only by the written (or chiseled) word, but also by something less substantial, like the spoken word or perhaps the spirit.

That's why I read my bible, everything you need is in there, but why would I trust my eternal security to a preacher, who may have not read the book himself, therefore leading me down the road of deception....

I thought the poem was a wonderful piece of work, I thought deeply profound desirable. I like the imagery, which complemented your poetry extremely well. Well done no errors of mistakes. Alexander

Good question, GW. If they do pass it on it will most likely be written in a shortened text message format: SA (Samuel Adams) and TJ (Thomas Jefferson) were BFFL. They both signed the DIP (Declaration of Independence) LOL Thanks for the thought provoking post.

That is a good question and one we need to be asking. Your words are one good reason to be sitting at my computer each day; making sure that nothing important goes unwritten. Well put. -Judy

You have spoken volumes in such a short writing. With so many one parent homes and the disinterest of the male role model I wonder this too! This is very profound and thought provoking!

I love this poem. For me, the poem speaks from the heart about the importance of communicating to our youngsters in a way that will make them recognise the value in something that is worth preserving and passing on to their own kids.
You are right, not everything is written down and so much is lost because of it. Folklore is so important.

'To all unwritten things' is an excellent piece of poetry. Who though is in the position to answer this talented writer's rhetorical question? It was a privilege to both read and review a work of this standard.
