What a sweet love story, Bob! You gave us just enough of both characters to be able to fill in the blanks on our own. Well done. :) nancy

Excellent use of only 55 words. You did this well and said a lot in those few words. I've met many such confirmed batchelors who say "I do" after meeting the love of their life. I hope you do well in the contest.
Good one! :-)

A romantic short, short story. I count 55 words exactly. I don't know how you put such emotion and a show of love and romance into such a short work, but you did, and did it beautifully! Enjoyed!

Excellent picture to complement this short story. You told a lot in so few words. A confirmed bachelor meeting someone in spring and the saying yes in autumn. Most original. Best wishes for the contest.

Hi Bob,
I like your theme very much. There is nothing like young love in bloom.
I have a problem with one word--poking. Poking seems painful. Young flowers/blooms/ emerge/peek/venture (something adventurous, innocent and hopeful.)
Otherwise, it's lovely.

Glad you added the three words. Great story of a budding romance and loved the abstract art that you chose for this writing. Good luck with the contest.

So they must've had a really hot summer, huh? :) This was great, Bob, as only it can be coming from the likes of you. Excellent use of the seasons and the bachelor's change of heart. Very smart.
