Absolutely beautiful tribute to Charlie Daniels and certainly one of my favorite pieces of music. I haven't heard it in years, but will be checking it out tonight.
I think your poetry just keeps getting better as time goes by. Excellent cadence to your rhythm and strong internal and end rhymes to make for a smooth read. And no one does a presentation like you do. Exceptional piece.

You never cease to amaze those of lucky enough to read your creations. I have to give up to right now, you are a mater story tellers. Definite poem of the month. You're the best Dean, no doubt about it.
You should add the instrumental only music as background.

Thanks, Lance, but people would complain and moan about it.

I've always favored Heavy Metal as my music of choice. Usually eschewing country for something much harder. But I've always had a soft spot for Charlie Daniels and this song in particular. I was returned to my days in school when I first heard this song. It was wonderful to not only be reminded of it, but treated to a new chapter of the story. Well done. Well done indeed.

I love that song. Learned to sing it for karaoke. A nice second act here filled with special effects at the end. I thought there might be music on it, but none came through except for the link to the video. Love the reference to the Monkey's Paw. Who could ever forget that sad and gruesome story. Every line you write glows with images and poetic devices. I loved the ending. I so wish I had a six left to give you. Sigh... You da best.

Thought you'd like to know I almost got kicked off the site too for mentioning in a reply to a review three simple words "Cast a vote." Didn't even mention it had to be for me. Big Brother saw and withdrew my entry.
-
Yeah, well, I won't be participating in any more contests. No one votes, no one that follows me, anyhow, and it's just not worth it.
-
I just posted an essay to warn others. Ha, ha.

Grrrrr, Dean, I'm all out of sixes! This is so good! Love the play on the Charlie Daniel's song!
I hope you get a response back from the promotional manager,
'go boy, go!'
Well done!
Cheers,

How do you do it, Dean? I'm drooling on myself. This is beyond a six. In a class on it's own. The artwork dazzles me. The song always fancied me, anyway. I got to pick up me tongue so Mi won't trot on it. Awesome!!!!!! These lyrics are amazing too. This is in another galaxy. I love this one. I will bookcase this unit, i will read it again, more slowly next time. Dang!!!!! Where do you find these pictures? Best to remain a secret, this is your sword. I'm stunned. Damn devil! I just used me last six a few minutes ago. It's an insult, giving you a pathetic five but I'm bone dry. i will make it up later, update this with a six when I get them. So, I will bookcase this unit so i won't forget. I can't quit looking at the amazing images. Did it take a long time to create this? wackydo, do loco.

Once again you have produced an amazing Pictapoem.
Your creative streak is nothing short of amazing.
Each verse and accompanying image drew me to read further and I
Was not disappointed.
Definitely a six star presentation so forgive me for not having one to allocate.

Dear Dean - You put an impressive amount of time into this one and it shows, great tribute and creatively explores more than just the song lyrics but that deeper message on life. I loved reading this one - though the font colour did my eyes in - I think I'm getting old my friend.
An exceptional work in all ways. Has to be a virtual:)
Thanks for sharing - its ben a while since I heard it so used your link to have a listen - loved it too.

Oh yes I enjoyed the dueling fiddle
So searched for a video to hear the song
I had such a good time watching and listening to it
You do wonders writing in poetry about Johnny and the devil playing their fiddles
(glad the devil lost the challenge)
