A very well-written love poem and the statue of the kiss is an excellent pose for lovers to kiss. In the name of art it is a beautiful statue of two lovers for everyone to look at.

In my opinion, a masterful stroke of the pen, beautifully penned in concert with the beauty of the sculpted art of a master sculptor - rhyming rhythm smooth and fluid, a joy to read - fully compliant with the prompt and exquisite in presentation. Much luck in the contest...

This poem is so much of a work of love, and about love, it lifted my spirts. Like buildings, there is an architecture to love, where two people fit so well together they feel they will never part. I sometimes wonder what people's lives are like that have never had this experience, this interaction. Myself, I feel very lucky that I've had such feelings for another and have always appreciated it. Best wishes.

This is an exceptional poem. I feel it defines the moment when intense emotions unite with those opposing forces as they connect in a form that expresses it as it truly is and so poetically expressed by you. I love this poem. Thanks for sharing and I can understand your inspiration.

Tony, I really like your quite believable conceit of those real life lovers turned on by the statue.
On the other hand, I don't agree with that buildings analogy, but who am I to take issue with Rodin?

Yes, but I had the effrontery to disagree, and then cravenly demurred. (You're welcome, Tony.)

I had that Statue in my Garden but eventually it was tipped over and destroyed. It was a two foot concrete statue not a huge one. I found it at a garage sale. Some kids tried to steal it on my birthday in 1982 but it was too heavy and they had to give it up. Well written Love Poem Tony. Tough contest. Good luck, Nancy

Excellent in form, message and choice of words... your poem is lyrical, fluid, and it its graceful form moves across page in formalistc splendor... "...when carillons ring clear,
they seem to shake the sky in sweet alarm,
awaking inspiration with their prayer
to bless such harmonies of human form they seem to shake the sky in sweet alarm, awaking inspiration with their prayer..."
You expressed with a tender passion your love of art and how its form, shapes, colors and sizes speak to the heart on the deepest level -- and resonates with the beat of the human heart... Excellence personified!

art sometimes spark love in the eye of the beholder. They walk hand and hand gazing as they view the art. They intertwine their lives of art and love.

I love the POV of this one - the poet observing lovers who are, in turn, observing Rodin's sculpture. I like that they are a little bit bashful (as I would surely be if I were on a date observing this) in the presence of such an explicit image, but that they eventually "osculate" (great word) "in resonance".
The language soars throughout this one, rising to meet the classical bar set by the sculpture. The sonnet form seems a natural choice for such high art. Absolutely worthy of my last six!
