Delightful tribute. I haven't been watching the Olympics much, but did hear that there were a lot of gold medals given to the Americans last week. Glad your enjoying the games and all the best in the contest.

I am not a sports person by any means, but I do envy those who have such great talents to do such incredible things. This is very nicely done. Good luck to you.

Dear author,
this is really an excellent read for this Friday morning. Your lines are beautifully written, wonderfully expressed. And the imagery is superb, particularly the 6th and 7th.
Arms emulating soaring wings
Poets of gravity
You have cleverly grabbed the reader's emotion and attention. Thank you for sharing; good luck in the voting booth. (tati, Feb. 26, 2010)

Wow, this is beautiful. I love the imagery you present, and the flow and rhythm of your piece. Plus, I just love the winter olympics. :)

"Those Flying Men" is such a beautifully written poem! There is a nice rhythm to this and it's so graceful, just like the skiers. Like you said, they are poets of gravity!

I relate to this poem as I am a skier (albeit downhill and X-C). This poem flows and draws on emotions - poets of gravity/white grace airborne - what vivid descriptions of skiers in the Olympics. It is one of my favorites. Good luck in the contest. Pat Crandall

Wow!
I thought this was an outstanding portrayal of what I've been watching faithfully!! You've captured the abstract and poetic nature of their extremely concrete challenges. Loved it. elaine
