A powerfully written tribute so to speak. Yes, only history will show somewhere down the line in the future if efforts for peace were worth the lives lost in seeking it Hopefully, the answer will be yes.

This is a work of pure power and voice from those who have gone before to protect and keep our liberties and our freedoms. Not only does it grab you by the throat, but it does it with quiet truth and underlying sorrow. Just some brilliant prose!

This was a great piece of writing, format or not. It speaks volumes with vivid images and a real tinge of sadness.
I look forward to seeing more of your work soon.
Best wishes

A lovely tribute to those who did indeed pay the ultimate price for liberty.
The tone of the poem is sombre and dirgelike which is appropriate. I like how you query whether anything has really been learned by all the fighting and whether or not the sacrifices have been in vain.
'The actions we did undertake (for) in the name of liberty.'

This is very good and extremely poignant. Most Veterans' Day writings come from people who didn't serve. You served, and your words are all the stronger because of that fact. I applaud you for your service and for this fine reminder. Ray

There is a stunningly haunting quality to your writing on this piece, purveying not just the gravity, but the weariness of the veteran soldier, trying to impart the depths of his insight to those who cannot understand.

Scathing questions that needs to be asked of all leaders. I always wished the presidents, kings and premiers were the ones who had to fight it out to the death. It would make so much more senses. Best wishes. Ray.

Very nice. It seems to be that we never learn by others mistakes. We should, but unless we end up in the fire, we have no idea how it feels. Sad to say, the world is just not going the direction it should be. Thus, we will face some horrible feat. Whether it be war, meteorite, or some other catastrophic calamity. God help us!
Yes, the war heroes have given of their lives. And many other sacrifices. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes. Lois
