Excellent poem. I know all about the saying " Cowboy Up." I am from Oklahoma and in this part of the country it is used a lot. The rhyme of your poem is excellent. Believe me there has been many times I have had to bear and grin it and 'cowboy up'. Great poem. Shirley

Now, this is your best cowboy work that I have read so far. I really liked this, and the Cowboy Up, I like also, even if it was used by the Red Sox, and I am a Yankee fan. Thanks.

Hey there! what a great poem...good advice too. I sure try, but as I age, getting back on the horse gets harder and harder...lol. I sure like your work, and the pictures too. I will have to get some art done, and maybe you can use it to accompany your work! :) Susan

Again I like the style! I'm not so sure about the semi-colons in poetry. But it's just my opinion that the less punctuation the better.
This had great rhyme and meter! Lavender

Hi! I love the meter and beat of the last three verses. It would be wonderful to see the first verse contain the same meter. A few questions/suggestions:
1. "Getting'" and "Starving'"--should you not have the apostrophe (') and keep the words as is or should you drop the "g" in both words and keep the apostrophe since it indicates there is a letter missing?
2. lean(add period at end)
3. and. (I'd make the punctuation (--) vs. (.) so that this line can best transition to the next.
Finally, go Cowboy! Good piece of writing that helps all of us understand this term through your great descriptions and images.

I found your poem to be very inspirational. Although categorized as Western poetry it fits everyday life no matter where you live. Job well done.

Hi,
I love this and can relate, although I am woman!
I have to sell my four horses due to a divorce. Your inspiration just helped me with a decision. I will never sell my saddle! Thank You

hey
really good poetry
exceptional message; amazing power and strength is truly running rampid in these lines
I cannot say which parts hit me best with it's inspiration; it all speaks the truth
I can nod and agree with every single word;
I often try to explain to the modern-day people who sprout about "positive thinking" like it is a new and mental idea only; but I am always lacking in the words to tell them just what true grit positive thinking really is;
well; here it is
thank you for the write and for posting it
I will bookmark this great poem so I can view it often and say; yes; someone out there does know all about life.
you have a smiley day
and
"cowboy up" my friend

I enjoyed your explanations of the term "cowboy up" along with its repeats for emphasis. ("It's" lost its capital and apostrophe in stanza three.) I particularly liked your rhymes and "guardian angel" simile.
