This is well-written. I think it is a good idea to have an introduction page to your collection. It does give a guide to the reader and a focus as to what some of the thoughts you had going on when you wrote these. That always adds to the enjoyment of the work. Readers always enjoy having a bit of the inside scoop! mikey

This is a good explanation of your idea. It is better late than never. I have just got back from my holiday in Thailand and Cambodia with my fiance. It was great but it is good to ba back as well.

AMEN mate good to see you. Thanks for the review. Hope you had a good time. Hope you guys are gonna tie the knot soon! Did you see my message about John Wayne's movie "Sea Chase" we just watched, reminding me of 'The Beast'?
-
I saw the message and I will watch this movie again. I am a great John Wayne fan. Thank you.
-
Might give you some more ideas for Beast too did you finish that yet?
-
It is finished, but I just need to post the rest on here.

We find inspiration and a reason to follow chosen paths from all kinds of things.
It's interesting to note that your reason was to fill a gap in Christian
Christmas Carols which presented the true meaning of Christmas.
To write both words and music is quite a challenge.
Good luck.

Hi Friend I thought you would have seen the Carols before as they have been on here for ages in the "Really Truly Christmas Carols" Book. Thanks for the review I felt the Intro was long overdue for the collection in the book. God Bless.

Hi they have been on the website for ages I just felt like an Introduction was most needed.
Comment from Norbanus
This could be a startling prologue for some, Sankey. Christmas Carols have in the past, have been to show the murder of Jesus as less ghastly than it was, in order to allow people to think of the salvation rather than the horror. I'm looking forward to seeing your carols.

I trust your songs will not remove Jesus from his place in the Christmases of tomorrow. This is very well written and I look forward to your endeavor.

Thank you Geoff, for posting this comprehensive explanation for writing and promoting the sort of music that glorifies The Lord at a time that most are thinking of other things, and believing that Christmas is for other things than celebrating Jesus' birth! Bless you, Roy.

Thanks Bro apologies that it is not nearer the time but as we don't know when Christ was born...some suggest more like a September than December I thought a good idea for an introduction finally.
-
It's not your fault Geoff, I think it was the Emperor Constantine who replaced a Pagan festival, as was Easter which was celebrating a fertility Goddess, and Christmas the sun and moon. It is ironic, the Hebrew feasts which were eternally instituted by God, we avoid them! Blessings, Roy. Just having a bleet!
-
Bro Roy I know all about old incontinent Constantine sorry couldn't help it. I guess when you make something up or institute something you have to add your own angle, Hence Christmass. One only has to look around St peter's Square in Rome to see all the "hangovers" from Paganism huh! And don't get me started on Mariolatry and so on.Good thing about Christmas and Easter apart from all the gaff is these are probably the only times many would even be in a church and hopefully if they are lucky hear the Gospel.
-
I used to have a problem about Christmas and Easter and then I grew up and decided that anyday is the time to glorify The Lord, and if it brings awareness of God, by those that don't know Him, then I am for it! Bless you and your dear wife today and always. Roy.
-
AMEn Bro hung around 2 women for years on the Forums who were really agro about Christmas and Easter. Both ex Cathaholics hehe. I used to know when to steer clear of them as the rest of the year they were terrific people. Actually sorry one was ex Lutheran.
-
Poor Geoff, I'm sorry to say, sometimes we get hung up on things that simply aren't important! Thanks for sharing! Roy.

I'm certainly receptive to the demonetization of the commercialism which Christmas seems to be all about these days. You're lucky if you don't offend someone anymore should you wish them a very merry Christmas, and I feel that's such a shame.
Our forefathers founded this country on Christian principles and morals. Those who take offense to that can go back to where they came from, as far as I'm concerned...

This is a fine introductory note about your collection of poems. You explain when they were written and also give an excellent explanation for why you thought they were necessary. As you state, a lot of the Christmas carols do not really convey the true meaning of Christmas. Sounds like a great project. judi
