A good poem that says so much of the intimate horrors of war and the terrible inner turmoil every soldier must go through, at tsome time. Great visuals that give a sense of being there, waitng dreading te coming moment. Again a wondel poem.

I like the thought behind this if I am getting it right - the poppy fields that we honor our veterans with are born from the blood they bled in the wars. Good write!

Hi deepwater - This is a very well written, moving poem about men going into battle wondering what they were doing there and what had brought them to this. There is no doubt young men did feel that and long to be back home in their own land. But like all the rest they fought and some of them died. A lovely read. Kind regards Dorothy

Poignant, musical, with the repeating words of death, which magnifies the importance of the message.
Those who sacrifice everything so we who survive can live in freedom are true heroes.
This is beautifully crafted, with a powerful message.

This is an astounding poem expressing the reality
of the horror of wars, that one and all of them. And they never ens since humanity exist. Excellent style, powerfully heartbreaking. Pili

A picture is worth a thousand words they say! You picked a perfect picture to go with your beautifully written poem. It is also very sad but death is a possibility when you sign up for the military.
Very nice job

This is the best poem albeit the original Flanders Fields in a shorter form that I have seen. It is rhymed well, rhythm and meter and most importantly the message that needs to be repeated in a now more dangerous world where even the climate and disease confounds us. I wish I had a six

Powerful, in that mothers have been the victim of wars since the beginning of time. Always with God on our side. Mentioning poppies reminds me of World War 1. Who remembers them. No one. Nice rhyming. Would've gone beyond generalities. Still, an artful presentation. Les
