Good contest piece. It sings America the Beautiful quiet well. I remember the moment it happened. Thanks for sharing your poem. Best of luck in the contest.

Very striking piece in your interpretation of that date. What I like the best about it is you hear the voice of the 'working American in "There ain't no way you'll ever run this Country in the ground" or "This ain't no game that you've been wanting us to play." The world has a much different idea of who we are and that is an underestimation.

There are thousands of young men and women who find themselves no place for their generation in our society and are open to recruitment with organizations like ISIS. If they comeback with the goal to create a caliphate out of our countries we will have to kill many of them. It is hard to imagine fighting out own children who were brought to life in a world of Christian hope and charity. Good luck in the contest.

This is a beautiful tribute to the 911 tragedy, I live in Canada, but for the souls that were lost on that dark day, my heart really does go out to the survivors.
God bless. Brilliantly penned.

The memories of 9/11 remain as vivid today as on the 11th of September 2001. Spirits also remain as stubborn as before, and New York City, as I have often seen, has not lost any of its vitality.

This is an excellent entry for this particular 'America the beautiful' competition, dealing with those terrible events in your history this is a strong worded and excellent poem that tells cowardly terrorists how America handles this crap. Good luck in the contest my friend.

We watched in Australia the scenes played out on TV here! The second plane canoning into the second tower, while we where in New York, we visited the new Freedom tower and the new museum, and the twisted metal residue from the attack. A horrible thing! The trouble is this is a war of "stealth" fought under different conditions, and they know they are hard to defeat, it won't be overcome by invading other countries! Well done, beautifully written poem, in couplet rhyming, a nice smooth delivery! Blessings, Roy.

I don't know if 9/11 will be ever far enough in the past to not evoke such strong emotions. Your poem does that in the lovely words you wrote. How it saddens me that for a time we all were proud of our country, stood shoulder to shoulder. Sadly that time is past. This is the epitome of the emotions drawn from 9/11: 'Well, it's time that we all rally round our flag once more. We will never let the mem'ries of lost ones fade away. ' America is beautiful and we will not be beaten. This is a good reminder to stay strong

I wish I had a 6 star to give you!
I can so hear Garth Brooks singing this as I read it!
Well written and I can't imagine a better piece for the writing prompt!
The painting of the eagle is gorgeous and you have captured the essence of the US!
hugs!
