Fresh night air
Will cause on to stop
And ponder the feedback
Of his senses.

This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

This is such a lovely contest entry. I really enjoyed reading. The flow of this poem was equal to the flow of a hawk moth's flight. I wish you the best of luck with the contest.

Nice pic!
The air tonight's distilled from jasmine flowers,
a whiff of pheromone.
Witty opening! Made me chuckle. Love the assonance of I and consonance of L, T and S.
Nice alliteration of H and W and C and S here, plus continued consonances and the silky flow of the long sentence style--so finely woven from line to line it rolls off the tongue read aloud:
Hawk moths hover,
tipsy wraiths that waft from cup to cup,
with casual promiscuity,
till lifted by a sultry sigh
to kiss the sequined, velvet dress of night
on wings of moonlit lace,
idealising love.
Love this portrait:
Hawk moths hover,
tipsy wraiths that waft from cup to cup,
with casual promiscuity,
love this eloquent imagery:
to kiss the sequined, velvet dress of night
Love moonlit lace and the closing note of LOVE.
Wish I had a six.
Warmly, rd

"Hawk Moths", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Short, succinct and very much to the point. Each line of this talented poet's work is woven with the golden threads of truth.

Yet another sweetly written and highly descriptive work, creating great imagery, in original and poetic language that has a uniqueness to this unusually short work, that gives wings to artistic expression. A really good entry in this free verse contest Tony, good luck, blessings, Roy

This free verse, Hawk Moths, presents a poetic capture of the metaphorical moth delighting in the flirtatious nectar kanoodling as the backdrop of night provides a mood for love and nature. Nice.

I like it, the reader actually can experience a tranquil evening. I could smell the jasmine in the air and visualize the Hawk moth hovering. The picture compliments your lovely poem. Thanks for taking me on a mini vacation.

Thanks, Sandra. Yes, they are somewhat like hummingbirds in that respect.
