Yes rape is on the increase, and nothing is being done to curtail this situation.
Living today can be hard, and work to feed their family.
A lot of crime can be committed because of anxiety and no
job or money.
Many are just bad people committing these crimes
Some within our society are rich and probably don't care
and abuse others for fun?

i didn't think writing about a rape could be done so beautifully done. you've done a great job in bringing this rape to life. it's a sad poem that is a sad reality somewhere around the world. as you've said. thank you for sharing and again congrats one winning the poem of the month. :)

Thank you Rosa for a great review. It's a horrible crime, really horrible!!!!

That was graphic, very sad and well composed piece of work on an act of sin which can only be condemned. As you say this is happening all the time. Various crude and cruel methods are used to humiliate a woman and make her feel dirty and degraded for no fault of her own. Her innocence on a dark street lies, words which are sad but true! You have not written a long poem but a crisp and hard hitting critique on one of the most bestial crimes committed on women. Congratulations for a well written and sadly true fact of our evolution in the 21st century. Gooloom

Thank you Gooloom. You are so right, we don't seem to have come too far do we? It's a horrible crime that needs to stop. Being aware helps and hope this makes someone aware.

Really wonderful, and I read really good ones to hubby for his opinion, he loves poetry too, and he said that yours is SO good! Keep 'em coming!

Now there is a real compliment girl. Just to know you felt them good enough to read to him makes my heart sing. MUAHHHHHHHHHHH. Don't worry, I won't run out of them. LOL. Inspiration is mine, a gift from the one i love.

I'm sorry to say this but my muse takes too many vacations and leaves me with writer's block. When you have time, I hope you can read my poem My Muse, I was hoping that someone would take me up on my auction, lol!

"In shame, this virgin...her innocence on a dark stree lies."
Wow, such a chilling end to this dark scene. A great and horrifying read. Think anything else worth saying has already been said before. Fantastic!

I always wondered how well someone who hasn't been there could write about the subject of rape. You have done it eloquently and your poem is bery expressive and presents a knowing glimpse at the ugliness and shame a victim feels, though shame is not warranted. Well done.

Thanks so much!!! It wasn't hard to write it, no more than any other subject for I just rely on what others have described. Not hard how easily someone could turn a beautiful act into a real horror. Thanks so much you!!!

You're so welcome. Well done. Marcia

This is so horrid. It's so sad that this happens everyday and everywhere. I can't help wondering how you could make a poem out of it, Gungalo. Oops, =before I forget, congratulations on your win.
