You have handled this subject so well. It is done in relatively few lines and yet, it seems to sum up a lot of life's issues. I liked the line, "We die with the understanding of wisdom needed to survive..." Very nicely done, I enjoyed reading it.

This is straight wisdom and a must read for young and old. Why don't we teach this kind of thing in schools. It should be posted in public places, as a reminder. Well done.

Hello...-smile-....yes I agree completely. However I've found there are certain circumstance...individuals below zero cold...who make that impossible. I know this guy who was betrayed by those he called family for a lifetime....and boldly revel in their sin, rubbing shame in his face...are they crazy...? great read .....love Michael

I enjoyed your short essay on life.
You give a good recipe for a happy life in your four short paragraphs.
I do agree, it is best to set up camp in the midst of those whom we love and trust.

beautifully described life and death situation and the drama in between.....what a philosophic view of life.....really loved the philosophy of one's understanding of life...you must be very cool in your head to write a piece like this...really i admire your view.....thanks for sharing...

Wow! Terrific, for sure, and if I had a sixer, so would you! That first paragraph is one I've personally struggled with throughout my life. Being forgiving can be a whip in the hands of your 'frenemies' believe me.
Excellent job. So, is this free verse? I'm a prose writer, so I don't know, but I loved the presentation.
