My word, Gungalo! What a poignant and emotionally charged piece. This exudes frailty and reality. It merges the truth with the obvious, it does happen and it is real. What a breathtaking write. Not the idea or premise, but the way you capture the spirit of "the RAPE." You are one talented writer and I am honored to have read and reviewed this well penned, realistically written, piece of insight! Just an all around devoted penning. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so very much, Mermaids. I'm still recovering from the shock of being nominated and then winning. Breathing deep for I wanted it realistic to show the heinousness of this crime.

A Monthly winner and rightly so Gungalo. This shows so much insight that I worry.
It paints a picture which is indelibly carved into the soul of every man. Well written and rending. Eric

Hi G. CONGRATULATIONS on winning the poem of the month contest!!
This is a horrible story well told in a very well written sonnet. The iambic pentameter is flawless and flows well. The rhymes too are exceptionally well done, including the final couplet. KUDOS!!

Hello Gungalo, Wow what a powerful poem which tells the story of rape, just as it should! An act of violence against a woman. The words you chose create a horribly true and vivid scene for the reader. The picture and colors enhance your exceptionally written poem. Congratulations on winning Poem of the Month. Just an awesome write!
All my best,
Warren

I read the rape story of an innocent girl. Reading the story i really felt very sad. This kind of deed is really heinous and should not be avoided at all. I think such kind of deed can not be stopped by punishing the criminal. I think only parents can do something and they should always give their sons good lesson and tell them to keep away from any kind of bad work.

A well written and concise account of a very hurtful event. The rhyme in the poem feels natural and the overall rhythm of the poem reads quite well also. It ends well too, with the double meaning of her innocence.

I find it amazing how a rhyming poem can work so well with such harsh reality. Very well written, the imagery brings the reader right into the scene, and as horrific as it is, the words flow smooth. When a reader can feel the horrors as though she were a part of the whole scene, now that's writing.
Congrats to this well deserved win.
