I really liked this poem with a story within. It had a great Western feel to it. Heck it was as Western tale within the poem. He came, he saw and he conquered and he died in that same wain. A great entry. Good luck. Ulla:)))

Wow! This story is creative and captivating, and leaves the reader wanting more. As your description unfolded, the imagery was compelling and impressive. You made the reader as familiar with Ol No Name as you, the writer was. This story is a great contender in the contest. Best wishes.

Wow! this is an enthralling story of a life told in a poem and with rhyme-recalling an era that is, to all intents and purposes gone- it's actually a full-sized slice of social history - a gem!

The form, metre and rhyme scheme are close to flawless. The story it tells is an intriguing one. It clearly explains the man's life and why he died.

In my youth, I knew a man like this, He was the model for the poem.
Thank you for the shiny six.

Your narrative poem--with some wonderful lyric qualities--is excellent in every respect. You have captured, through his actions, the character of a
person who lived, and died, alone. How very sad!

He brought in some horses, (he) saddle broke. (his)
I love this picture and the poem. It is a very well told story in a poem and the drawing helped covey the mystery of his demeanor. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Congratulations on all time best status and recognized status. Your note says it all--he died the same way he lived, ALONE> This is well-drafted and flows nicely within a tight structure.

This is really great. It is one of the best western poems I have ever read. There used to be (or still may be) a magazine called "Old West" that published poetry like this, but much wasn't this good.
