Hi Steve,
This story is long but read very quickly with the smooth meter and easy rhyme. It shows how happy a kingdom is when royal babies are born.
I like all the made up monsters and the fantasy characters. You name most of them. I think you left out dwarves. I think you should leave out the banshee singing because that is an omen of death. And we wouldn't want one of those babies dying. Maybe include hobbits there.
Congrats on winning the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Thanks, Joan - glad you enjoyed.
In the Kingdom of Gobbledegook, even traditionally evil creatures like banshees are benevolent!

I guess that is true.

This is so enjoyable and reads with a rollicking beat. I have not read the previous excerpts, but I know with your skill and talent, they must be wonderful too. Well done, Steve, a fun read. Good luck.

This is an excellent poem in every sense of the word, the meter and flow the syllable count and rhyming all great as well, but not only that but you've done everything you could to cavort, cajole and entertain, articulately well, good job Steve, blessings Roy

Many thanks, Roy. I am glad you enjoyed this rollicking tale. I rather thought I had finished with these folk, but it seems that they weren't quite finished with me!

You?ve cleverly hung on them. Steve, that?s clever,

Very good. I love stories like this. The meter is perfect as are the rhymes. I'm not familiar with Gobbledegooks before this, but I'll have to go back and catch up. Good luck in the contest.

This is quite brilliant with delightful and very creative rhyming. In my honest opinion, this poem confirms my long-held belief that you rate as one of the sites better poets. In particular I love your irreverence. Great work and deserving of every one of those six stars.

Irreverent? Me?? Surely not.
Many thanks, Bob. I appreciate the warmth of your opinion and of course the sixth star.
Hope all is well with you and yours. Interesting times we live in and sometimes downright worrisome. I am happy to be living far away from the hurly-burly.

Your imagination is amuck. Amuck I say! You had better wrangle it in before even more fantastical pieces spew forth from your fantastic spirit!
Nice work. I enjoy and appreciate you. Please keep pouring forth the entertainment!

Thanks, Doug - and welcome to FanStory - I hope you like it here.
Yep, once I get started on one of these, the nonsense just keeps pouring out. You should take a look at some of the earlier poems in this series.

You have a great rhythm in this story poem continuing the story of Hilda and Rupert. I could see this as a brightly artworked children's book as I was reading. Nice one, Steve.
Cheers

I haven't written one of these for a while - in fact I'd basically called it quits on the Gobbledegooks. Seems they had more to offer!

Barbara, thanks for the kind review of my Gobbledegooks poem - glad you enjoyed this piece of fun. Yep, i haven't been writing much lately - just not especially motivated and there have been many other things taking up my time.
