This is a well written story about how God lead her to what she needed to stay alive and Renee and strengthen faithfulness.
Congratulations on winning the contest.
Though this is non-fiction no fiction.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Merry Christmas

I agree that God's blessings and directions are there for the taking. He is ready to lead and to guide; our decisions are our own, but we are never far from Him. Thanks for posting a wonderful story and I wish you luck in the contest. ann

Thank you for sharing about this. I think you mentioned this situation and this doctor before. Yes, it is the Lord, the true Good Physician Who does all the healing and can provide the right doctor at the right time.
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you, afor your super review, nd yes I believe I did mention it before, but (having forgotten) this is a newly-written and original story slightly converted to fiction.Yes, this one was to acknowledge how He has directed each step of the journey, even when I didn't know He was doing so, and in doing this to thank and praise Him publicly for that. Thanks for your good wishes.

Your story was interesting. Linda must be your twin
sister. I remember reading about similar issues affecting
you. I believe they're in your family genetics. I agree about
how God helped.
Best wishes.

Thank you for your thoughts. The notes explain that Linda is a fictional character, I have no sister called Linda and I am not a twin. Medical research has not yet established a genetic component.

Wow! That was a close one. What a terrible thing to deal with. So happy you saw the right people and received the correct treatment. I can't imagine the fear.

Thank you Bill - I always appreciate your reviews. The funny thing is that I didn't really feel fear, because until I was diagnosed and immediately treated I had no idea how seriousit was, and then my uppermost feeling was relief. And being thankful I hadn't lost my sight. Looking back ... it was pretty close, as my haemoglobin was so low I was almost at the point of needing a blood transfusion, and I felt so tired I could hardly be bothered finding the energy to go and find a new doctor. Thank you again.

This is exceptionally well written, and I was (and am!) thoroughly invested in Linda's ordeal ~ now I see it's yours and I'm twice as upset! Indeed, the Lord will see us through many a medical morass. And also, something we all need to keep in mind, is doctors are mere humans and none of them can know every set of symptoms and complications!
(I wish when they have these contests there was an "advisory" board who could give us clear guidelines--is it possible by admitting this "fiction" story is really about YOU, and is true, "they" may not accept it? I hope not!)
I am so sorry you've been through such an ordeal! This makes the quality and quantity of your work even more impressive!

Thank you Karenina for your super review, and I know you unnderstand because of your own medical experiences. I appreciate greatly the honour of the six stars - so encouraging and uplifting. I think it would be disqualified if it was written in the first person. I have been dq before when I made such an error. I classified it as non-fiction, when it was supposed to be flash-fiction. I could easily have altered a few details to make it into fiction, but there was no opportunity, the dq was immediate. Personally, I thinkit should be the quality of the writing which is judged, nothing else. They could simply have said "a story with a maximum of 500 words about ..." Anyway, hope they don't read my notes - but the story as now written is fiction, as the character is totally fictional. Here's hoping. Thanks again.

Thank you so much Wendy for sharing this. There are no coincidences with God. It was a miracle that changing doctors for a small thing like a broken foot led to the discovery of something more serious. It reminded me of what I experienced a few years ago - going for a heart scan, and as a result, having breast cancer found. God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.
