I reviewed a few chapters of your book and I remember you were very positive to critiques I humbly suggested. To me, this is the bedt trait of a good author. Anyway, just to let you know, I'm voting for you right now

This is another excellent chapter.Circumstances are pushing Emma and Seth together, nicely. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day. I look forward to the next chapter.

Quite a scary chapter. So glad Seth arrived when he did and that he and Carl were able to rescue Emma. This should make them both realize how they feel about each other.

This is a rather shocking part of the story. Emma is fortunate that Seth noticed her car and checked it out. The idea that he stayed close to her all night with his phone on his pillow as was hers is really a loving image.

Thank you for the kind review. I hope Emma remembers this later as things go wrong. HMMM.

Looks like they got past the first name issue. It is telling that Emma calls the man next door instead of her parents to get her through this emotional situation. Seth is someone she trusts and can depend on. He is equally trusting and protective of Emma.
Great job getting this two closer together.

The charged scene with the knife wielding burglar could have used some exclamations from Emma I think, to add to the tension. Otherwise we get all the prince charming to the rescue actions from Seth to keep her safe. It is a bit mysterious, we don't know where this guy came from, maybe he's not just after money. But by the end, we see Seth with the phone next to his ear, ready to jump in to keep Emma calm. She still seems to be hanging back a bit, very independent, declining help, an on her own type of gal. We'll see where this goes. estory

An excellent chapter, Barbara. You do a really good job with the detail describing the robbery and how the characters were reacting and trying to contain the robber and keep Emma safe at the same time. You built the suspense very well.
It was a good move in Seth's part to come in wanting a cup of coffee. He waits for just the right moment to give Carl the signal as well as the command to Ace. Seth had to have been really shaken up because Carl commented about his nerves of steel, and he walked away.
Despite everything, Emma is insistent about having ice cream for dinner and even asks Seth if he wants some.
I like the ending because Emma was finally using Seth's first name and didn't think twice about calling him. He gave her good instructions about keeping her phone close.
My answer to your question in the notes is 'yes.' A really good chapter.

This is so touching that Seth is totally in tune with Emmas feelings .he understands her fear and is ready to be at the other end of the phone. The robbery scene is well written....

After Emma's harrowing experience and Seth's coming to the rescue, this has definitely notched their relationship up a gear. I got a little confused in the fracas about what was happening with the offenders but this was a well paced and expressed story in which the characters become very real. Thanks for sharing. Debbie
