This is another interesting chapter in that it helps show how a third person can help a family that is trying to avoid an abuser in the family or live around his anger. Just being a support is what is exemplified here. Nice share.

I'm sure you were a good support for Mrs. D when she realised you knew what she was going through and that you have been strong enough to get through it and take the slow and winding road to personal strength.
Well done, Lea.
cheers

Hello Lea,
sometimes just being with someone who has experienced the same thing you have can be comforting. One of the worst things in the world is to believe that you are alone, that no one else will understand. Thanks for sharing this gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Please accept a virtual six on this. Such experiences are difficult to retell because it means that you are going to be living what happened all over again. Trauma can throw a long shadow that likes to follow you darkly into the future. X X Lily

Fear is the greatest deterrent in the world, it keeps most of us from fighting back. As the saying goes, "better late than never," I'm glad to see you speaking out. Now, I just everyone decides to listen, as it's never too late for some form of justice. Thanks for sharing.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Weeping - not weaping - however it was very engaging and I love how you tried to engage her children. These memories hold us like a barbed wire cradle. There is no comfortable place to be.

Keep writing - it needs to be said.

I feel no pressure reading your words Lea, only sadness that these things happen to innocent people who are just trying to live their best life. Bullies leave a trail of sorrow in their wake.

Suggestion for this line:
(I heard a woman (weeping)

Another fine chapter Lea, keep going as we are listening.

Love Dolly x x x

No woman should ever have to put up living like this no matter who the man is. Thank you for sharing this story. It needs to be told.

I sometimes think that we know it before the perpetrator does. & I understood the fear and nervousness that she was experiencing. & I wanted to tell her that because I didn't know it until I finally made the connection myself. & She came to realize that I knew what she was going through. (you can omit 'that' it's not needed)

You can certainly sympathize with this lady have gone through violence yourself. Don't regret being able to remember everything. Only by remembering it, can you deal with it. Those who block unpleasant things from their member need years of therapy to pull it out of their subconcience so they can understand why they are so depressed and unable to deal with life. At least, this is what I believe. I remember everything too, but my past wasn't nearly as bad as yours.

You built the tension beautifully in this chapter, Lea. You knew exactly what that mother was feeling from your own experience and could really empathize with her. She finally understood that you had experienced the same thing in your life. She felt sorry for you, but at the same time, I'm sure it gave her some solace that she was not the only one to face such horrors. You were very good to her and for her.

Her children may not have been the targets (yet) of his wrath, but one must feel for them as well to have to witness what their father does to their mother. How confusing that must be for them.

I feel for this poor woman because she feels stuck. This is what can happen when you make yourself dependent upon another for your livelihood. I know it may be part of their culture, but it doesn't work very well. I don't think a patriarchal society is ever a good thing. There should always be equality in a marriage and mutual decisions about how to do things.

Sorry, just philosophying a bit. On a lighter note, here's a joke I'll bet you haven't heard:

Guy goes to a psychiatrist. He's completely naked but wrapped in cellophane from head to toe. Doctor looks at him and says, "I can clearly see you're nuts."

One boob says to the other boob. That was a funny joke l o l
"We better get some support or they'll think we're nuts!" Haha! Thank you for that bit of levity it's required in this day and age, especially now. Thank you for your fine review and for your comments as always. I find valuable and honoured to receive them thanking my friend!
