Lol! The thistle-do. Sounds like a punk rock hairstyle to me. See the obsession of hairstylists to even out is why hubby has me cut his hair. I know it's curly in some parts and don't attempt to even it out. Hope it's grown out some now! Funny story!

My mother got a haircut like this, and it took a year for it to look better again. I am so sorry this happened to you! Thank you for sharing, though, and best wishes to you.

Thanks, Jessi, for reading and for your good wishes!
I hope mine doesn't take a year to look better. :)

I can totally relate to this, although you just got a bad hairdresser. I came out of surgery with my hair full of something that had glued it together. You wrote some fun dialogue. I just cried.

Bless your heart! When was that?
-
Happened a long time ago when I was thirty.

Actually, she wasn't bad, just trying to fix the back after I had been chopping on it for years. I think when it grows out, the cut will be good. It's just the waiting.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure you look great though.
My hair fell out in clumps due to stress two years ago. At first I wore cheap wigs, but they were itchy and uncomfortable. So then one day I told my hubby to shave my head.
At first I was horrified, but then it grew a lot stronger. xxx

You were a brave one! Was your husband horrified, too? He probably said you looked beautiful.
-
He said I looked great, but you know when you don't feel pretty yourself, what other people think doesn't help much.

This is a very well written dialogue contest entry for the contest. I had that happen to me one time too. Not much fun, but we finally get through it. You did a great job on this entry. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, Teri

For the past few years, I've wished I had the nerve to have my hair cut short enough that I didn't have to fuss with it. Your haircut sounds exactly like what I want. In six months you'll probably have a completely different hairstyle that you love. Your story is encouraging.

OMG! How did you know? This could be my story. I've been cutting my own hair for a few years as well, but right before Christmas this year, I decided to have the back shaped a little. She showed me a picture, and I said, "NO, not like that," and explained one more time what I wanted. Well, that's what I got, the cut in the picture. She recently sent me a note saying she was going to be visiting her home country, "China" and I should come in before she leaves. Fat chance! Thanks for sharing. Good to know, I'm not alone!

Lol. Oh dear. I am sorry but I did laugh! Why is this not in the dialogue contest - a winner for sure. It is very cleverly written. My guess is that she won't be your regular hairdresser ... not that you'll need one for a good while! Well done. I enjoyed it.

Wish I had a six for this!! As soon as I saw you had a post I had to read and I am so glad I did. OMGosh, girl, this is why I have been doing my own since covid. And this is funny, but if you read my second to last post called laughter, I tell that and I tell that my hand jerked and I took a big chunk out of it. However I fixed it and it is a fun pixie now. Did this just happen to you. I would not have given her a tip after that. You didn't did you?
Oh Kay, I am sorry and I hope it was a while ago and it has grown out.
However, you did a great job of telling it, adding a little humor with the horror. LOL.
It is just like us to write about the same thing at about the same time. ,,,,Kinda!
Great story, my dear friend. Love reading your stuff. Love, Debi

Am running out the door but will read yours later. No, it was just the other day. I'll look like a skint rat for a while, I'm afraid.
Later.... :)
