Congratulations on your recent contest win and placing.
It seems that you are as good a prose writer as you are a poet.
I was moved by your story of a modern day Good Samaritan. Yes, one reads of similar acts online and there are even videos posted. These may or may not be true. In this case it was something that you witnessed that obviously made a deep impression.
I am not affiliated to any ideology. But isn't it a shame that in a country like the US so developed and wealthy, many have fallen with no safety net to catch them except the outstretched arms of occasional compassionate strangers?
I have one proposed edit which doesn't detract from the story. When you write " I watched as the young man said ..." I think you mean "I listened .."
I also have one suggestion
It would be more appropriate to place the biblical references in your author notes than in the body of your story.

Thank you Julia. Such kind words are appreciated. Yes, I will never forget what happened that day. God put me in just the right place at just the right time. If that were not the case, there would be no such story to write. So glad you enjoyed it.

I think we should all take heed of what the Lord said, the knigdim of Heaven is more than bread and wine, it has grace, kindness, goodness and mercy, and generosity of heart, beautifully written and shared, don't call yourself a prophet brother, let others do that, we are servants and sons of the most high, nothing more or less than that. Thank you for the review, Roy. I would never call myself a prophet, only a lowly messenger of Jesus Christ, spreading His words of love and grace by whatever means I have at my disposal.

I'm happy you enjoyed this piece. It's been in my heart for a long time now. I'm glad I finally put pen to paper so others could experience what I was so privileged to witness. I believe I was right where I was supposed to be at the exact time I was supposed to be there.
