[To be read with tongue firmly planted in cheek.] I'm sorry but you lost credibility on that last line. I somehow can't hear myself reciting:
And the wild Amish roared their terrible roars,
and gnashed their terrible teeth (that you barely realized they had)."

As always, I enjoy your self-deprecating humor ("one of my favorite control-freak pastimes"), your Ezra-deprecating humor ("who knew he even had teeth?"), as well as your non-deprecating (unless you're a fish or a visitor) humor, i.e., the Poor Richard's Almanac quote.

I love how the Jewish side of you pops up as soon as Tova arrives. (It's only fair, after all, to combat the Pennsylvania Dutch native to your hosts.) You might want to tell your (or Tova's) Jewish side, though, that "meshugana" is a noun, and "meshuga" is the adverb or adjective. In other words, "You look meshuga," or "You look like a meshugana." (Don't worry, there's only a 10% surcharge for proofing in another language, lol.)

This was a fun chapter to read (especially for one who understood every Yiddish word you threw in), and "Let the wild rumpus start!" is the perfect cliffhanger with which to end the chapter.

My pleasure. I'm sorry I'm so far behind on my reviewing, but I'm rushing to the ... oh, wait, a slug just beat me to the finish line. I've actually been very busy between classroom, writing, and family obligations (not to mention the Jewish holidays), but I really am making a concerted effort to catch up. At the rate I'm going, it should only take me 'til 5786.

Catch up time, again. So glad to see this is rated Number 1 for September! It is a well-deserved recognition, Rachelle.

Enjoyed the Poor Richard's Almanac quote...some things never change. Also love the frequent and delightful contrast of calm country life to the lively layers of fasionista hotties.

I also noticed how thoughtful and considerate you are of others in your To Do List. Of course, that is no surprise at all.

Another super chapter, my friend! XO Lily

Intriguing is the first word that comes to mind. Though I haven't read the previous chapters, I am immediately drawn in by the actions and activities of these very real, very live people. I feel the main character's yearning for Tova. I find myself unable to wait patiently for her arrival just like the min character so I can see how it plays out. You have one or two grammatical errors which made sentences confusing for me but I eventually figured them out. I love the contrast between the two illustrated by what they are wearing.

Let the wild rumpus start?? I thought this book was coming to a conclusion. Leave it to you to throw another twist in the plot. Who is this mystery woman? I reread this to make sure that I did not miss anything. To make sure that I did not miss a hint of a new character.
Curiouser and curiouser.
Great job.

This balance poem, Idol Factory, has the proper formatting and finds the near end of the "stayover" happening and the close to the fun tale seemingly coming to an end.

TOVA finally arrived! I love the excitment and relief your character must had felt. I read Gretchen's chapter first. You both explained the emotions so well.

Wonderful chapter, well done.

Hello Rachelle,
I'm so glad that I had one last six to award. It would have been unfair to say the least to have let this artistic landscape go without a proper rating. I feel like I was watching a made for TV movie as I was reading this. The descriptions were so real, and the dialogue so authentic. It was a pleasure to read this. You and Gretchen have got a hit on your hands gal. Well done! Thanks so much for sharing this.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

This was such a fun chapter, Rachelle. Amid the misgivings as you listen to Ezra and Helene argue over your intrusion into the life of their daughter, the cavalry arrives.

That exchange with Tova was priceless! And I loved the reference to Where the Wild Things Are.

Such a good chapter filled with raw and honest emotion on everyone's part. I guess even Ezra is happy because he'll be getting rid of you!

This fashion queen can wait to get out of borrowed blue gunny sack. She fed her original designer wardrobe to the goat but soon she will be restored. Actually, I impressed at how well the adventure was handled. I'm anxious to find out who is in the second car.
