I liked reading this rhymed poem about a picturesque cabin that helps show what the early Tennessee settlers had to work to produce. Favorite lines:
Neighbors befriended, soon became blended
into a community.
The churches they'd build, would quickly be filled
with spirits of harmony.
Congratulations on the second place win!

Thank you, Crystie, I was fun to write about a place I enjoy going. I've been there many times and sometime just to drive through. If you like taking pictures there are beautiful landscapes and wild animal to photograph.

Beth, both your photograph and your writing are winners. You let your image lead you into the experience and with your words, you took us with you. So deserving of its win. Congratulations.

I spent many years living near the foothills of a small mountain in Idsho. We often rode horseback up into the hills. One of our favorite destinations was to ride to " Mikes Cabin "... a long time abandoned cabin once inhabited by s msn everyone referred to as Mike. I never did hear anyone actually proclaim they knew him or he was a family member. You really didn't go into the cabin because it was too daisnd unstable but we spent msny evenings enjoying the beautiful views and the campfire hot dogs on a stick. Thanks for reminding me of these great memories.

I love this.
It has such a great rhythm and meter to it, it flows off the tongue and into the mind like a song
Beautiful imagery, it reminds me of a great song by Dire Straits, Look up the lyrics to 'Telegraph Road' or better yet, if you don't know the song, give it a listen.

This is a gorgeous photo to illustrate your lovely poem. I like the rhyme scheme and the easy rhythm, the descriptions are vivid and interesting. They definitely draw the reader into the scene and make me want to visit. A great entry for the Share a Photo Poetry competition. Well done!

There's a bit of old fashioned charm to this piece that makes it not just a joy to read but endearing. It had me driving through that village with you. Great work
