If in life, we know something that is very important for life and we fail to communicate it to someone else. We are failing our society. I think each one of us if we have a special talent or skill we need to teach at least one other person so that that skill will not be lost. Patricia

I love this one! And the art you've chosen to accompany your philosophy is thought-provoking. Thanks so much for sharing your "Each One Teach One" outlook on life. It makes me wonder who I will teach (I'm hoping it's more than one!) and I know of dozens who have taught me! Thanks for posting.

Good morning, Jesse,
A very important and rewarding philosophy to live by every day.
If I may suggest, it would be wonderful for you to include in your Author's Notes the origin of the phrase, "each one teach one.
I bet most folks don't know its origin, and it really is inspiring.
Wikipedia offers a neat summary.
Thank you for sharing!
fondly,
diane

Hi Jesse. I love this. Can you imagine what our world would be like if everyone followed this. I like the words: each one teach one. Great job.

In medicine (I was a nurse for many years) the learning method is see one, do one, teach one.
Your poem reflects a similar outlook to this.
Thank you for sharing this simple yet impactful poem

Ciao,
Unity makes strength. In the animal world, they have learned the lesson.
We consider ourselves superior yet on the big scale, we are still at war with each other. This destructive behaviour is detrimental to our species and home planet.
Ants, bees, wolves, elephants, lions, bison, penguins, dolphins all find strength in unity.
A lovely poem!

Jesse,
What a great poem. I like the line, "we must lead not follow" it is so true. I am not a sheeple so I have a hard time following. Some of our greatest discoveries were made by leaders exploring the world.

Great poem with an important message! It's said "Each one teach one" originated as an African-American proverb.
In the days of slavery there was little opportunity to learn. When a slave was taught to read it became a responsibility to teach that skill to another...
It's been adopted throughout the world and as a motto for many learning institutions.
I smiled as I read this because my nephew is in kindergarten and his teacher ordered tee-shirts for each child in her class...with this motto.
They wear them on Mondays, and the entire class "brainstorms" what each of them knows that they can teach!
You suggest that this is a wonderful habit to adopt in or out of the classroom, and I enthusiastically agree...
I love your line:
"By working together
we can reach past the sun..."
Nurses use this philosophy frequently!
Teaching a new diabetic, for example, can be a scary experience. Gather a group of four or five new diabetics, pass out oranges, demonstrate how to properly give an injection... (Into the orange) then sit back and smile as each person engages with the next...
Suddenly the "students" are teachers!
This poem is a perfect example of teaching us a new way to I interact!
Love that!

Well done! We so often diminish ourselves, never considering that we are all teachers, and have a responsibility to help others. It's so much easier to jusr follow. Thank you.
