That sounds amazing. A walkabout. I would just call it a road trip, but it is the same. My pastor just came back from Africa a few weeks ago. I'll never go. I want to go on a mission somewhere, just not Africa. Maybe I'll go to Paris. They need God there too, right?

Being from Arizona (a little town named Payson, near the Mogollon Rim)
I can testify to the magic of that area. Enjoy. I have moved, but part of me is still there

Oh that sounds like absolute perfection! just going where the day takes you and having no set plans or destination. Your home on wheels. Enjoy your time in the sun and write us about your adventures!

Have a safe trip and enjoy your time away! Thanks for letting me know. I was going to ask you where you have been. I have been listening to your brother's book and I perk up when he mentions his sister Esther!

This is a good clarification: "Walkabout means we have a loosely planned trip: a possible route, probable destination, with an indefinite return. We will be back when my flowers are blooming, or when we run out of money. If we find a great spot, we stay a bit. No such thing as being lost. Our best treasures are off the beaten path: pioneer graveyards, museums, ghost towns, and unexpected beauty we don't have to share with other tourists." good resolution for the ending: " Our best treasures are off the beaten path: pioneer graveyards, museums, ghost towns, and unexpected beauty we don't have to share with other tourists. Our Flinders Ranges, aren't very far away, a very ancient landscape, with a rich history, of mining, pastoral sadness, ghost towns, ancient formations and many more striking things to see, I appreciate your post Esther, blessings Roy

Have a wonderful AND SAFE time! Wish I could have my own walkabout, but I'm still stuck in my wheelabout but not complaining. God has been good to me. Enjoy many blessings!

What an awesome plan! The older I get, the more appealing it sounds. It sounds like the ideal retirement program: unscheduled adventures!
I wish you the best in your journeys.

Esther,
What a lovely life you have as a snowbird. I'm sure you have a great time when you are out and about. I worked at USPS and it took me a couple years to figure out what a snowbird was. I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes. I'm sure my postmaster thought I was dumb.

Esther,
Thank you fllr the kind review. I bet you are used to the nomadic life. My husband and I are veterans and get the itch to move every 6-8 yrs, I get it, I just do it on a much larger scale.
