I'm dating someone right now and if something were to happened to either or us or if we were to break up, I don't know what would happen. I guess I would somehow manage to get through it but it would be hard. Great job with this piece

I really liked this poem as well, too...that a cowboy is set in his ways and the incompatibility of him and his lady friend...her wanting the finer things of life...and he wanted to be out on the ranch...I wonder if you are a cowboy...and perhaps lost love along the way...very nice poem

I sure hope this is not a true story for you. If so, I am sorry. People like you, are what make our world a much better place, and it is sad when others do not see this. Keep your chin up my friend. And this is sad, but again, very well written...Susan

I like this piece very much and I think the message is clear to anyone raised in the western part of our country. We may have to leave the open spaces and go into the cities to earn our bread or educate our children, but when the responsibilities diminish, the choice becomes clear. Very nice work

Excellent writing on this Western poetry. The picture chosen is of some cowboys herding cattle. Story about a cowboy that got too old for the woman he had.

Wow, this tells a great but sad love story. A man who has to choose between his love and who he is. Reminds me of the saying, "You can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy." I can identify. I could never go back to city living after living on and working our little piece of heaven on earth.
Enjoyed reading your work.
Blessings,
Maria C.

What a wonderful poem you have penned. It was a pleasure to read and review. Very well done. I especially liked these lines:
The end of this relationship was somewhat sad and cold
What made it end so sudden was, the cowboy just got old

Truly loved the last stanza:
The trials and tribulations that make us who we are
The teaching from our fathers that carry us this far
The heartaches we must carry to make it day by day
The love from that woman, he lost along the way
Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Your poem is so sad. It really highlights the different perspective on life people have and what they value as important. I enjoyed reading this poem very much. Technically, the rhyming scheme of abab is lost in the third stanza, otherwise the poem flowed smoothly.
