Hi Mary,
to look up into the sky and not see this shining light echoing its beauty back at me would tell me love had died... or at least it has got too damn hot and exploded.
This is a wonderfully constructed rhyming Whitney poem which conjurer's up the thought, why are women supposed to come from such a hot planet and men from one so cold... is someone trying to tell us men something?
With our thoughts we create,
a view to love,
James xx

Hi Mary
I enjoyed your nature Whitney. Perfect syllable count, and good rhymes. I like the inclusion of Venus, always bright in the sky. Aren't there supposed to be women there? Men, from Mars...women, from Venus? Why are the astronauts bent on heading to Mars then? You'd think they'd want to go to Venus. Maybe it's all the acid rain and poison gas that turned them away. S'pose?
Good Luck in the contest! And thanks for sharing.
cheers

Thanks for the review and the comments. Yes Venus is symbolically linked to female, and Mars is linked to men.The planet Venus is totally inhabitable, too close to the Sun, over 800 degree Celsius. The next mission to Mars is planned in two years time, for two couples. They will not have a return plan. I wish them luck. Mary

Excellent!
A well-penned Whitney of celestial love and beauty;
A fine dedication to the goddess of love, as like the planet, love also shines brightly.

Venus is the one planet we can often see easily with the naked eye, and she shines brightly in the evening or morning as your poem suggests. This is a lovely whitney which meets all the requirements and creates an ethereal image.
Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest.

indeed, Mary - Venus is a special bright star - isn't it where you ladies come from - and us blokes come from dull old Mars. :-)
Excellent whitney.
Good luck, Ted

Yes Ted, symbolically speaking, Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, I think you know more than you let on. Thanks for the review. Mary

The artwork is marvelous and complements you poem well. I have seen many nature Whitney's by now ad it will be a difficult choice. Yours fulfilled all the requirements and is very original. Best wishes for the prompt.

This is just lovely. The simplicity of the imagery allows each word to shine brightly for the reader much like the goddess (or planet depending on your perspective) herself. Very well done and thank you so much for sharing this with me.

I truly like your poem very much it has great imagery and the picture complements the poem very much and vice a versa. Venus, the god of love signs both day and night. I like that adage very much. May you have a good one and God bless.
