Whenever I've been on holiday or away anywhere, I've always loved returning to the familiarity and comfort of home, so I agree completely with your sentiments.

It is a good thing that I love my home as I am largely homebound these days . My husband needs constant care but in these surroundings that is not difficult. Thank you, Ted, for sharing my homely feelings.

Nice description with specific concrete images of what the essential ingredients are of a "home." I hate to move, but when I do the first thing I do is hang the pictures and enjoy the special memories of what I unpack. Best of luck in the contest. Sue

I appreciate your warm comments and good luck wishes.I once had to move overnight with our children and our belongings were put into storage by my husband. Eighteen months later we were all together again and we unpacked our goodies in a new home.You can just imagine the joy of that unpacking!

I like your poem about home, it is basically what most of us experience. I particularly like the paintings photos and the artifacts that we pick up over the years that give us both our memories and pleasure.
