Hello Idamarty, Strong vocabulary and descriptive writing.
Of special note:
She stares in disaffection
A prisoner of self-deception
(Sometimes people can be their own worst enemy.)
As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

Bookend poem
Retrospection
Self-perception
Misconception
Objection
She stares in disaffection
A prisoner of self-deception
As a stand alone poem - this speaks volumes. Especially with the 5th line indicating unhappiness with meeting expectations.
Paired up with "Reflection" it combines to underline the depths of her unhappiness with her outer AND inner state.
Nicely paired up :-)

Well done on this poem. I think it is a really strong entry for this contest. It is profound and thought provoking. Your image fits it perfectly. I wish you all the best for the contest

I often feel 'self-PERPLEXION', if there's such a word, when I look in the mirror or at my life style. :-)
Very interesting and dramatic vocabulary to describe this lady's general confusion, and maybe persona offered to the world..
Best wishes, Ray
