LOL what a different 5-7-5 for the VAlentines poetry contest, but then who is to condemn love? Count is right and thank you for the notes.

This is an interesting supposition that ones very own succubus has a maladict made in hell. Whatever happened to the maligned incubis? I was rather fond of him Anyway, so much for the Lenten fast.

Well, an incubus wouldn't do me much good, but I'll try and work one into a poem somewhere down the track for you :) Cheers, Craig

They don't call her 'succubus' for nothing! She'll suck the soul right out of her maledict. I've heard of succubus before in terms of a female devil. "maledict" is a new word for me.

This is an original entry for the Valentine contest, Craig. Love can take on many forms. :) Good luck in the contest! ~~ Connie

Thanks very much, Connie. "Love can take on many forms" - ain't it the truth? Cheers, Craig :)

Oh this is a wonderfully ominous Valentine, Craig. Written in first person POV makes it all the more powerful. Its sensual allure is unmistakably malevolent.

Great job and best wishes to you in the contest. :)

Gloria

What's a guy to do when he has a Valentine contest to enter, the word of the day is "maledict", and he only has time for one poem? lol If this doesn't win "most romantic", I'm lodging a protest! ;-) Cheers, Gloria.

A scary write! And of course there have been some relationships that have been made in hell, 'Hindley and Brady', the 'West's' to name two! This reminded me of those two in particular, best of luck with your Valentine write, but I have a feeling they want something a little more loving! He he he, love Dolly x

Oh damn, I suppose one of those lovey-dovey things will probably win then ;=) Thanks for the good wishes anyway, Dolly - Craig

A very well-written 5-7-5 Valentine's poem for the opposite of true love. This relationship seems to be matched and pieced together by the devil himself straight out of hell.

I love your choice of artwork and color scheme for this poem. /The poem itself is simple, yet powerful. Not exactly where my mind goes when I think of Valentine's Day, but I like the dark sentiment. Good luck with your contest

The origins of Valentines day are very dark - for real. The slant we put on it has changed a bit over the years. Thanks for the good wishes - Craig

Hi, Craig;
Interesting little tidbit there; the line about how this poem has no resemblance to your life. Or at least, we are not to believe it does. Have you survived the curse or do you still live under it?

~patty~
(not that I would know anything about curses)

LOL No curses here, Patty, and any malevolent demons are long gone ;-) Thanks for reviewing! Craig

I normally skip these tiny things, but I like to see your new words, so I took a look. Succubus is familiar, but maledict is new to me. Broken in half it say talking about evil... OR talking about men... same thing (ducking). But that becomes curse in usuage. Interesting. :)

Do you know why married men die, on average, five years earlier than single men? Because they WANT to! :-P

Thanks for the fun review :)
