Oh, wholehearted agreement, Marilyn. That's why I never discuss either of those topics with anyone ;-)

But wouldn't it be great if we could talk about them without the desire to become homicidal?

Great job, Craig and sadly it fits in with 9/11 although I suspect there are other horrible massacres too. Humankind is a mystery to me, but it seems as I have said many times before it's because we do not know how to properly use our brains and have sadly used it to lie and deceive in order to dominate and destroy, rather than its useful purpose. I can't say we won't have to go through a massive change before we figure that out, if ever.

Apparently it dates back to 1792, in Paris. A month after the overthrow of the monarchy, there was fear of political prisoners held in Paris jails creating a counter-revolutionary uprising. More than 1,000 prisoners were executed, most of whom had no such aspirations. This became known as the September massacres, which is where the word comes from. Thanks, Helen :)
