I could have warned you. When it comes to the bizarre, the scary, the awful and terrible, this man has no equal. Your only hope is that there won't be a sequel. You could have avoided a whole lot of pain, if only you had stayed in your poetic lane.

The guy is just scary.

You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the cape off of the Lone Ranger, and you don't go up against Dean in a Halloween poetry contest.
A clever and fun write, which I'm sure Dean will appreciate.

I wish I was as good and won contests as often as you think, Bill, my fiend...e-r-r-rrrr, heh-heh, I meant friend, of course.
I just enter a LOT of contests on a wide variety of topics so the odds of winning at least once in a while is pretty good.
Hilarious poem, Bill; I'm honored.
We'll see how you fare in this contest.
Good luck!
~Dean

He he he, this is a lovely tribute to Dean and his horror writing that I have not seen in a while but I dare say he will appear at the witching hour, a joy to read, love Dolly x

Hi Bill, I think you're right on the mark there. Dean is indeed the king of horror that is very much so. I liked your poem, and I think it's a great entry for the contest. You're acknowledging a writer who does indeed know the genre. All the best. Ulla:))

Life is much easier when you accept that 2nd place to Dean is a win. Haha. I do believe that he has the heart of a boy on his desk...in a jar. Cheers and maybe stick to sonnets.

Thanks, Judester. A psawnut follows my framing as opposed to a sonnet.

Awesome write here, Bill -- your attention to form while still communicating a heartfelt message is nothing short of brilliant! And, you are so 'write', nobody does horror like Dean Kuch (psst - I think it's the hat....but you didn't hear that from me - lo!!). Thank you for sharing! ;) :)

Yeah got to admit when it comes to macabre he always wins with both ravens feet on the ground. He is the master of the dark and beyond.

Lots of fun in this poem, Bill! I'm glad you did this and I hope Dean will read it. Yes, I wouldn't even try that category.
Enjoyed your well formed "psawnut" poem of your own creative invention.

Great job with this fun poem. Some contests it doesn't pay to enter. Just sit them out. Still we keep on plugging away. Well written. Good luck in the contest. Marilyn
