So I went back to the beginning after I read the his third letter. This seems like her chance at love. You do a good job of leading up to the letter.
Can't wait to read her reply.

Well, now you've created a fine mystery. If the reader doesn't follow this on along, then they've got no sense of adventure. You have now invited the reader to be more observant and to notice more. We can now begin to guess who we think it is. Cleverly written.

How wonderful!! An old-fashioned secret admirer... do those even exist anymore in this 'just put your whole life out there' culture in which we live?? LOL! :) And how cool that there's another 'Yvette' -- don't see many of those! ;) :) :) A wonderful start to warm four-parter...look forward to the next Lavender Letter! ;) Yvette
P.S. Know I'm running way behind but midterms and else have been eating up the time.... plus, the Fall 'blahs' have taken hold so, I'm trying to spend more time outside! ;) :) Take care! ;)

The Yvette will be modeled after you, sweet friend. I?ve got to do something with you. I will make, her blonde and smart, always a close friend willing to give good advice. Just like the real you. So glad you like. Stay tuned.

Screaming here. No sixes. I am thinking it is the old guy, but I do not want to get ahead of my thoughts or your story. LOVE THIS. I am going to write a chapter book about my life. IT WILL BE A HORROR STORY. Kidding. Looking forward, AS USUAL to the next bit on this one. Great start. Well, I guess I will ignore the family and sit at my computer on Christmas EVE!
HA!
Hugs!

It gets worse, or better depending how you look at this. There is a companion story airing next week, a letter back to ?him? from Kristin. They will run in tandem until Christmas Eve Eve. I?m tickled to death you love it. I?m writing hours day right now as my first Blind
Girl mystery series will be finishing end of October/early November if I can get my health to cooperate. (I?ve had shingles yet again.)
I?m hopeful to overcome and do it. I simply must. I just love to write, it gives me such pleasure and this love story is a sweet diversion.
Thank you for the honoring review and I accept your virtual six and kind comments. It means so much.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xo
Kristin?s response letter is called, ?To My Secret Admirer.? It will post early next week, a few days after ?What The Blind Girl Saw #25.?

Oh, you have left me hanging! What a charming story! I definitely want to see a continuation of it. You have written in such a manner that avoided cloying or gushing description, and your development of plot and character worked well. Thank you for posting this.

Thank you so much for the honoring review and generous six stars, Susan. It is so appreciated. I?m thrilled you enjoyed my love story. There?s more coming early next week so stay tuned. It is her response to him, a little added extra to the story and under the title, ?To My Secret Admirer.? The two stories will run in tandem until Christmas Eve Eve.

The romantiic in me sighs and says, how lovely. The cynic in me wonders if someone is playing a game. I hope it's the former and not the latter. Good luck with the story! Or book, whichever it is.

Oh wow!! A secret admirer! I love secret admirers. This is a great start to the story. I love men who don't mind a bit of extra meat on your bones. =} There are more of them than we think. I love the main character, I have always greatly admired those that work with the elderly. It can't be easy but they always say they just love it. Well done as always dear. Rox

You certainly sowed the seeds of suspense as Kristin reads this love letter from a secret admirer. There are some clues in it; it seems it's someone she works with, he mentions her dutifully at her post, with that sweet attitude. And you show her with that attitude making her rounds, conversing with the old captain with sympathy. It's interesting and we feel we have to keep with it to find out who the admirer is. you set the stage well laying out her personal situation at the beginning. estory

I have to smile at this, because something similar actually happened to be when I was working at a seniors' lodge. One of the residents asked me to marry him. It was sweet, and kind of sad because of course I had to say no.
