Our poet is a romantic soul and indeed the moon is the playground of all our souls, though a darkened moon is surely invisible. So our poet broaches the unanswerable question. He enjoys using rhymes with a slip in the first and final couplets. Still it is a stirring piece. -Ekim777

This is a hauntingly beautiful poem covering the last moments of a soldier on this earth, the sound of the last post, the six comrades carrying him to his grave, it reads beautifully has good rhyme and great rhythm.

Great, great, great poem! Very beautiful and descriptive. My favorite line was "glimmering stars reflect tears on your face." Haha, I kinda wish I had written it! Beautiful poem:)

Taps has always seemed to be such a plaintive tune. It really gets to me whenever I hear it. You have done so well to describe the idea of a military funeral.

You have penned a very moving poem in tribute to soldiers everywhere. So many soldiers have died, cruelly gunned down or blown up, and many on beaches. We must remember them, Giddy

This is writing about the thoughts of a dying soldier.
As the accompanying illustration depicts, these fallen heroes are remembered and will be for a long time. The wordings might as well be part of the poem and the photo very symbolic.
From breathing his last to his final deploy - the final assignment to a place of rest.

O.M.G! I'm actually speechless. " Emotional Depth". I read this once, then twice and the third time, slowly. Seriously, I had to return to where I'm sitting. Amazing, nothing to critique, except for the fact I'm babysitting and I shouldn't have left the kids. (Kidding). Just, wow! Best wishes 6 stars!

Great poem with a great picture. Good word flow and rhyming tell the story of this soldier being carried to his final resting place. Good poem but so very sad.
