This is a most interesting poem - you raise a valid point, and your use of American Indian artwork drives home the point that unlike some cultures, generally, Canadians and Americans tend to leave the past very much in the dust (so to speak); it's a huge mistake. History repeats itself, and our ancestors have much to teach us.

Hi GW,
Beautiful pix! I've worked with the Hopi and Navajo when I worked for the state of Arizona. One of my bosses was Hopi, and a lovely lady.
The Native Americans are beautiful people. A very nice tribute to them. Well done!
Cheers & Keep Smilin'.... Jax

Good point. We need to appreciate those that have gone before us in order to teach those that come after us to appreciate those that have gone before them. Okay, you said is so much better.
Concise use of words to deliver a thought-provoking message. Well done.

Your opening line posses an interesting question ... not quite sure, however, what you are trying to say.
The artwork in the piece seems to be American Indian. Are you saying that because our forefathers killed off most of the native Americans with no regard of their value ... that we need to try harder to make b our lives worthwhile?
Sorry, I am lost.

This is a very thought provoking poem. I love reading about the Native American Indians because they lived in tune with nature and worshiped God in their own ways. I have just one criticism. I think the" ?" should be place at the end of the poem.

You ask an excellent question. I think the problem is on how we interpret those achievements. The last line seems to be a part of what's written before, but that ends with a question mark. What if it would start as: "Will they be remembered by your descendants?" And of course that would end with a "?" Just a thought. Thanks for sharing. Les

These are good words to ponder. We must look backward to remember lessons learned, that they not need to be relearned again. And we hope those lessons we learn in our lives will save those who come after us, repeated heartaches.

This is a great work here indeed. Its nice and short, yet packs a punch and just gets straight to the point. I like it and well done !

Probably not, not as it stands right now, GW. However, I'm working diligently to change that, leave behind a lasting legacy for my family to be proud of. Living right, being good to others, being a God fearing man and spiritual leader of my household helps. That's all we can do, my friend. Our best...
