Hello author...
This is a well written poem that meets the criteria. Because of events and people we care about, few live a complete life of choice. There is a wistful feeling in this.
I wish you well in the contest.
Warmly, Rebecca

Pretty good poem...to have lived a life boldly that was of his own choice rich in human emotion, relationships and adventures even if he ends up alone leaves this narrator in his old age, fulfilled, understanding and content. The poem is smooth flowing and satisfying in its rhythm and flow.
Good luck in the competition.

Hi Author, a very interesting poem of adventure. It seems you managed to achieve most of your goals you set for life. I think the one which struck me most was being your own best friend. This is a hard task to master.
Well done and best wishes for the contest. luv jada

This was a lovely contemplative poem. As I read it I found myself reflecting each line to my own life. Your poem had life beyond the page. Emotions, and the ponderings of one looking over their life. Well written.
I found these two lines below created such a reaction in my heart. These two lines I thought were the key. If we are at peace within us, if we like the person that is us...then All the rest is just sugar coating....
"Then will you be at peace with yourself
And to be able to say, I am my best friend,"
Thank you for sharing a wonderful poem.

This is a very interesting poem. Even I find myself guilty of thinking about what I should have done, instead of what I did - many times. Thanks for sharing your well written poem.

What a great poem, writer. Really great. I could see this -- and this is meant entirely as a compliment -- as an epitaph.... Is the picture of the author? If so -- really cool! If the poem is autobigraphical -- even cooler! Good job, and thanks for sharing. Coop.

This is a nice offering which I enjoyed reading and reviewing. A great picture emerges with the words of this poem. The picture adds a nice note. I wish you luck with this offering.

Poet,
your poem is excellently written. Your words paint a mental picture in the readers head. Your art work is gorgeous you used. You've effectively used alliteration in your poem. I like your metaphors: "go as a pilgrim, seek out your quest, avenues of life, bet your soul, at peace with yourself, down the farthest side of my life with age and lived a life that was of my own choice." You poem is thought pondering and a wonderful entry for The Life He Almost Lived writing prompt. I wish you good luck in the contest with you poem. Keep on writing creatively the poetic hits.

Well, it sounds like that when you look back at the things that have taken place in your life you are contented with the decisions you have made and satisfied at the outcomes in your world today. God bless.
