Hi, lay should be lie, and this is a great though sad poem. No one wants to hear taps played, another one lost, and I pray that very soon all will return. I know that we all think about them often, and how hard they're fighting for our country, but enough is enough. Just my opinion. Beautifully said with your chosen wording. . .Sharon

Hi,
What a stunning work. Love the artwork - awesome. This is such a great tribute.
Taps gets me every time. We had them play at my dad's service, and recently for my mother-in-law. Stirs me to my soul.
Excellent!
Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax

A beautiful tribute to a fallen soldier.
Yes the taps are played before and after. It is sad when so many must die in battle and have to end up just like this in the end. You did this with Grace. Thank you for sharing.

A touching poem with a nice picture. As a guy who has been overseas a few times, I feel what you are saying.
Just one suggestion that you can feel free to ignore - "The flag she is lowered to complete my goodbye"? I only say because it would rhyme a bit better, though that shouldn't be a big determinant.
Thanks for sharing, Brent.

Beautiful poem that echoes the TAPS played at funerals for soldiers.
Your words echo softly, blending heaven and earth as one more hero returns home.
Excellent.

Amazing. I love the imagery you give the reader, like in Glimmering stars reflect tears on your face,' and ' The eerie whine of this bugle', also my favorite line. So sad.

hi, gw,
"The Dark of the Moon" is a superior poem with excellent rhyme, rhythm, and beautiful figurative language. (Dark of the Moon). It is a beautiful description of a moment love and a sadness of death of a soldier.
You might want check the spelling of "carrie" and "wine" to see if this is what you meant.

This is a timely poem. We have lost so many of some of the best of America's young men. This is a tender rhyming tribute to their sacrifice. I pray for peace.
