Hello Sally.
Excellent narrative both for the secular and the spiritual portions of the story. America has taken a terrible turn and we are going to have a rough ride.
As I have written before, 1-2-10-12 Amendments are on the line and in danger. The border is going wide open. The obstacles are bigger than those of history because of the leadership in this country. They are interested only in power, not reconciliation.
I've written about the three things tyranny does:
Control speech/press the propaganda
Disarm the population
Identify a common or national enemy.

I fear not, but fear for many that are mislead and follow the way to destruction, Sally. If I know naught then I don't know, but when proof is offered from a silver tongue would I believe? No... I'm not from Missouri, but show me. Though words that are written sometimes are misleading. Who should we believe man or God? Thank you for sharing.

I'm not sure I understand your review, dear, but I appreciate it it nonetheless. The point here in the article is: there is always going to be terrible things going on. Jesus Christ was born and lived in terrible times. Still, He specifically says not to fear.
I, too, am concerned for the many that have believed lies of all kinds, but they have a choice to believe it or not. Many gulp down lies because they believe everything on the news. I encourage everyone I know to seek out the truth! The truth is in Christ. Make Him the silver tongue.
Anyway, I thought I spelled it out pretty clearly.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally XOs...

Sally, this is a very well written expression of what you believe in, and your fears. I also have to say that my heart aches for you to live in such fear. But I don't understand from where it comes. As a Canadian, I feared that our close neighbor could become Communist, or even more scary, a Dictatorship, under your outgoing President. I feel much more confident now that Democracy will prevail.
I'm glad that you have your faith to help you through your fears

Our outgoing President was bombastic, I'll give you that, but supported pro-life, strong borders, and our constitution. The vote here was a sham. Several states violated their election laws and got away with it. The coup started on day one with President Trump and is now complete. We are not headed for democracy, not even close. Some good websites for the real news in America are : The American Thinker, The American Spectator, Epoch Times, and the Western Journal. I trust in God and know He will be with me and for all those who trust in Him. Sending you my best, dear Judy,

Amen!! The Lord is the only one who can save us now. After the year we had and the last 4 with the Dems doing nothing but finding reasons to get rid of Trump, How! HOW! do you vote these people into office? Even if you hate Trumps guts, all the lies, all the censorship, and you still vote for them, and in record numbers? Of course I don't believe that. I listen to Tucker Carlson and this last show was the scariest yet. People are such sheep! So willing to believe you will get something for nothing but so unwilling to believe that it isn't possible. No one I know who voted for this man will believe what he has in store, well I don't think he even knows, it what the party has in store. Well they didn't believe Bonhoeffer either and that ended very badly. But the Lord knows. Well done as always.

I wear a mask almost 40 hours a week at work. My asthma has flaired up more recently because of it, but, I will say I haven't had a cold in probably a year. I missed my yearly cold! That yearly cold usually, always, turns into a sinus infection. I DIDN'T HAVE MY YEARLY SINUS INFECTION! What I'm trying to say is that the masks aren't all bad. They are annoying though and it would be better if I didn't have asthma. The thing about politics is that no one wants to budge or meet in the middle. One side takes a hard stance one way, and the other side the other way. There is no compromise. You're either pro Trump all the way, or you're not. I'm on the not side. However, I wish we could all just come together, drink some coffee, talk, not turn to name calling or violence, and just figure some shit out. Coffee fixes everything, right? No? Damn, alright.

Coffee and conversation does help, that's for sure. That's definitely much bigger than that on the government level. They spend a lot of time together but can't seem to agree on anything. I have returned my hope in the Lord and trust in Him. He things are far bigger and greater than I can even imagine. There's a verse in the Bible I think it's in Proverbs, it says, "how can two walk in agreement unless they agree to do so?" I think that pretty much sums up our government.
Sending my best today and blessings always,

I couldn't agree more. Are we sure they have coffee available to them when they meet? I always thought coffee could fix everything. Maybe they need chocolate? lol

You did a great job, Sally, expressing your thoughts and feelings about the fear and loss of rights we are experiencing currently. The world has become a scary place for most. I like the way you interwove Bible verses and meaning into your story. When everything else is crashing down, there is ONE to look up to for help, guidance, love, and salvation.
Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Respectfully, Jan

Amen! You did just the right thing with Fear - you focused on Jesus! He assures us to not fear because He is in control. The people who were silenced on social media were those who incited violence. It's a temporary thing but I wish they would totally ban QAnon.

Yes, I choose to 'fear not.'
I've lived through many of those things too.
A murdered mother, and a father who most likely
was the murderer...suicides, divorces, addictions, and a plentitude
of broken people and betrayals.
I voted.
I read my bible in the morning, say my
rosary at night, and I am determined to be happy
and 'fear not.'
Loved this!
Blessings...

Congrats on your prize! Cheers. LIZ
Heartfelt piece that will surely resonate with those of faith and on both sides of the political divide--ugliness and violence have abounded--and of course Corona is a common enemy.
