Dear JLR Well done! Sounds like you and your body have (or at least have had) a good relationship. Here's hoping you both hang in for another 99 years! I love the visual of you doing cartwheel ' on the other side'. LOL
Hugs and Sunshine from my heart to yours

A tributo a long suffering friend here and your kind thoughts about him and how you will be reunited in death, a sad and poignant write and I felt the grief in your words and also your pragmatic view, we all become united with our loved ones in the end, love Dolly x

nicely done. I like it. I like the spirit, the flow, the word choices, the images and the underlying optimistic yet a bit snarky message that it conveys.

Good entry for the Puente event in Potlatch Poetry....though I'm not sure what's about. Maybe about a dead friend. The Ronsardian OdeL form is well done.

My friend, it is an ode my my body, my friend which has carried all these years, even though I have abused my body mightily, it keeps on giving me another day, just like a good old plow horse would do. :)

You did a good job with your club response JLR.
I enjoyed reading it, and believe there's more truth
than satire to it. I liked the touches of internal rhyme
spent.bent and worn/torn. I liked the positive outlook
at the end.

Thanks for par tic participating, Jan

I'm assuming that Lloyd is a friend or kin that has passed away Jim? That's very sad. But it gives you something to write this form that I've seen for the first time, others have written in this form too, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Our bodies do take the brunt of our lives, don't they? This is a great piece and utterly relatable to all, healthy or otherwise. Thank you for sharing this crippling piece, lol. Best, JohnC

Thanks John, oh yes, if I had known the cumulative abuse, I might have made better choices for y old body. 🤔🤔🤔

How clever to write an ode to your body and you named him Lloyd to make the rhyme work with 'avoid'. Praise God for healing bodies! It is comforting to remember God will give us new bodies in heaven!

This is a wonderful poem that I think everyone can relate to. The flow and rhythm are both excellent. It's so important to celebrate the gifts we're given. Thanks for the great read!
