Man who I Adore

There was a real melody to your words, about this man that you adore, as I read through, Debi. I love the chorus in this country song with a spiritual feel to it. Good luck in the contest, cheers

You are so sweet Valda, but I maybe should have been a little more clear that this man who I adore is dear friend who has walked in faith with me, in fellowship. My husband is very dear to me and he understood the song, but I told him about him and he understood completely. So as I am saying that it's not what you may think and I don't have a cheating heart. I do love your beautiful review and kind words my friend!

This is a so very sweet apiece! I wish I could hear it at the rhythm and pitch you imagined for your song! I've never attempted to write lyrics before. I admire your ability. Good luck on the contest.

Thanks so very much Alyssa! This was my first attempt with lyrics as I usually mainly write poetry. I knew right away what my tune would be so it wasn't the same rhythm of reading it as poetry. I thank you again my friend for your kind words. You are so very sweet!

Excellent entry for the Write The Lyrics To A Country Song writing prompt contest.
I don't usually like country music, except Johnny Cash.
Your song cracked me up. Is so funny and true.
Good luck in the contest.

Gypsy, I'm not much for country music either, but my husband is, so he loves that I wrote this. I love Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson because I love that their sound is different from most. I think you might have had two reviews here by accident but thank you most kindly your kind review for me.
Comment from Eternal Muse
He sounds like a truly wonderful man any woman would adore! Gifted with so many qualities anyone would find tempting and truly marvelous.
Alas, not everyone is destined to meet that perfect man in this lifetime but we can only pray he comes our way.
Loved your verse and chorus. A very substantial verse, I enjoyed it very much.

I thank you so very much my friend for such a kind review of my song.
Lol, actually I met my perfect man and married him 48 years ago, but wrote this for a man who was very instrumental in helping me through a rough time after my pastor died from covid. And helped w my fellowship and walk with my Lord and Savior. Thank you again my friend!

In my opinion, a striking tribute to a much beloved man, just waiting for the music and a songster. Though a bit confusing in subject choice, I believe the sentiment outweighs my confusion. Best wishes in the contest...

Hi Eve, I am so naughty my dear friend. I didn't purposely make it confusing, but chose to leave out some info in order to make it a little mysterious. People seem to be guessing and that is fine. Some at first thought it was Jesus, but then I wouldn't say that we may never meet face to face. I pray that we do anyway, Actually Eve, this song is about someone who has helped me tremendously after our pastor died of covid and helped me with fellowship to get through some rough times. And because I had a tune picked out for it that I played right off the bat, it may not be as smooth as what a poem would be. But it truly works good with the music. Thank you dear friend for the lovely review and comments!

You are very welcome indeed...Eve

Please, do not be concerned at all about the poem/song's reception, Debi - it is a striking write, and at no time did I think you meant Jesus. Your love for Him is far more significant. I am thinking of you with prayer and continue to wish you heartfelt wishes for pain free comfort. I thoroughly enjoy reading you, and writing is excellent therapy, as you know - so, my Dear, keep writing...Eve

I wish I could hear the music to this song. I loved the sentiment here. Although there is no particular metre in this poem, I enjoyed the end rhymes, love Dolly x

The tune that I play it and sing it in is perfect, but I feared that my be a little problem with it being just a little than poetry. But I do appreciate your kind comments Dolly. Thank you!

I sang right along to this one. I'm not sure if we have the same melody in mind, but it worked for me. Loved it! I wish you much success in the contest. Best, JohnC

John, i thank you so much and I wouldn't doubt that we may have the same tune or close to it, because I started playing it and singing and it is the only tune that worked for it. I am so appreciative of your very kind review and words, and I thank you again my dear friend!

From me, you get an A+ for effort and heartfelt emotions coming through your song.
Yet the lyrics aren't the most smooth though I don't know how the music is supposed to go.
Without a focal point, it is hard to imagine singing this song. Definitely romantic and positive in nature. I like the way you define the man you adore.
Thanks for trying your best and giving it the old college try!
Good luck with the contest!

Awe, Jesse I wish I could sing it for you, because the tune I play and sing is perfect smoothness but yeah, you'd have to hear it. But it's not romantic, just about a friend who has helped me through some difficult times.......
Hey, I have been meaning to contact you though today sometime to talk to you about the fact that I just had my first surgery 3 weeks ago, and will be having my next one in Sept with hopes to be able to walk again hopefully by Christmas. I heard that you are having knee replacements done. I did get the knee done too, but they mostly had to insert rods and hardware also to straighten and strengthen my leg so I am pretty excited to tell you that so far mine is looking to be a success. I took 2 steps with therapy last week with walker and haven't done that for years. I lost my ability to walk because of my Lupus, spine, muscle and tissue disease as well. I have had 2 spine surgeries first but they were not successful. .......You are probably wondering how I knew about you? Actually a little bird told me, so I am here if you want to talk at all and I am so excited for you as well, my dear friend.

But this is a blind contest.
How do I know who you are?
You need to private message me when you get a chance.
Jesse

OMGosh Jesse, I can't believe that I just forgot that.
I will message you as soon as the contest is over. I am such a dork! Lol
-
Okay! I will look forward to it!

That was lovely, and so lyrical. The words were so charming, romantic and loving. There are many who love someone without having seen them, it's the way they put their words into writing, how they express their thoughts and desires. I really enjoyed this one, and wish you the best of luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Ulla, thank you so much, but if you think I am talking about Jesus, it is not Him. However it is close, as it is someone who has helped me with after a rough time after losing our pastor to covid, and health problems trying to stay on track of keeping my faith and maintaining a fellowship in Christ. It is so very important to me, as these have been times of weakness when health issues got me down. So this friend is very special, but not at all romantic. I guess there is all kinds of love in this world, and as another song says, what the world needs now is love, sweet love. : ) So thank you so much for the lovely review and words my dear friend!

Well, love for a dear friend is a precious thing. Ulla x
