This chapter seems like a quiet time, with ice cream, before something bad is about to happen. At least Cord knows she has to come back if she goes to New York because she would never abandon the ladies she is trying to help.

As Alex and Cord talk about her trip to New York and birthdays past, we see their eyebeams crossing and hands touching, in that intricate emotional romance dance. Nice job with the lively, down to Earth dialogue. Lots of polish on this chapter too. estory

I really enjoyed the flow of this chapter, allowing the romance to develop during the scenes of them travelling home (and the well-handled affectionate teasing), and then the abruptness of everyday reality taking over again when they arrive home.
I didn't see any spag issues, so either you caught them all, or I was enjoying myself too much to notice :-)

I'm guessing this is a chapter built to reintroduce the reader to the fact Ali actually has a life in New York and the world is still moving while she is away. Good editing and writing.

I liked the beginning of this chapter, but then I felt it went off the boil a bit, and turned into padding. I was waiting in vain for Alexanrda to invite Cordero to the party, and felt frustrated you shied away from this. Kate xx
