We can clearly see the children bringing the Christmas tree home safely. In the picture, it looks like one child with their father or G'PA tugging at the tree. Your poem is very visual. As I read, I can see what's happening.

This could have been a Currier and Ives painting. Wonderfully warm and nostalgic. I loved the scenes that popped into my head. Great job on this. I really enjoyed it. Gretchen

You have a beautiful illustration to go with your well written poem. I don't mind that some people do not appreciate Christmas and it's magic. But I do so love this time of year. Makes me happy, I love the lights, the trees and the decorations. Presents are OK too. But gosh, how this season raises my spirits, and your poem lifted my heart as well. Keep writing and best wishes.

Can there be a more deserving treat than to arrive home on a cold and clear night to find a well lit fire, a table laden with delicious and tasty food; a welcome smile from a loved one? heaven on Earth.

This image is cut from a Christmas card and your words do it justice. I like your last stanza the best - I can see the weary son and child dragging the tree in after a long day of finding, cutting, and tugging it back home again. The smoke in the chimney is a promise of a warm, satisfying reward.
Nicely done!

This poem, Tis the Season, presented with three ABAB-rhymed quatrains, captures the winter and holiday spirit that we knew as kids and preserve in our family's routines or at least in our fondest memories.
