This is a very well written and meaningful piece. These few words say an awful lot. We need to recognize our soldiers and take care of them after they return. Flows well.

Wow. My father, grandfather and uncles were soldiers, and my brother and two cousins are currently soldiers. The second line and third line I find to be the most powerful. This poem reminds me of my brother who has decided to make the military his career and has already served two tours in Iraq. As a very close sister, I can look into his eyes and see this entire poem beaming out. Bravo.

There is never one that is forgotten, who should not be revered for bravery, for service, for great sacrifice.
Excellent poem, showing how each one gives everything for our freedoms.

This is a very powerful poem and I enjoyed reading it very much. You've done an excellent job of taking something so profound and putting it into words. There is not one line that I would change in this poem.

May me never forget...to forget is to be cursed.
May all our servicemen and women and all their families and loved ones be forever honored and blessed.
Thank you for your service and this beautiful reminder.
Have a blessed day.

Hi deepwater,
You're right, old warriors, like old war horses, simply fade away into the background until the politicos find something else to call upon the latest generation to fight for. Kipling's poem "Tommy Atkins" says it all.
