I loved the message of this poem! I felt that as a result of reading this, my mind went into "automatic poem inspired daydream mode." Great subject and certainly something to think about! Best wishes!

Excellent point! We'd all like to think we'd be inspirations, but as you said...it's a circle...are we inspired, proud, willing to reach even higher, because of the examples set before us? Great poem! Blessings tonight...Judy

I would sure hope so! (That's my answer to the question you asked in your poem.) This was a short read. I enjoyed it and also the accompanying artwork. Thanks for sharing!

Good question. This was a good poem with a very deep and powerful meaning. I think people nowadays don't think about what the consequences of their actions will have on their families, friends, and offspring.

A really good poem to contemplate...Though, do we really think of what others care to think when we are dead & gone...Except for yes, our descendants....I think they are the ones we want to impress the most & hope that they will remember us in a good way for our achievements....Thanks for sharing, One can say.

To be preoccupied with past achievements is to be netted in time; caught in a gilded cage. Achievements signal the end of an action. What about the new. What about the life that is ever changing and transforming itself. Just a thought.

I find this inspirational at the highest level! In this day and age we lose sight of where we came from and where we are going. we pay so little attention to the affect and effect that our actions will have on those coming behind us. This reminds me of the importance. Thanks for sharing>

Comment from Rubylou
I immediately thought of a metaphor that in years past things were made to last from ancient structures, to appliances. Now a days it seems less for more, with no guarantees.
The lessons learned from our ancestors seem to be dwindling and of less importance in daily life to the younger generations.
I applaud your wonderful poem. Rubylou

This is very well written. You've hit upon a question that is quite noteworthy. It is sad that the number of people who care about achievement and pride is shrinking every day. I'm afraid you are speaking of a bygone era. Nicely done.
