Hi Dean

This is such a beautifully told story poem. I am not a religious person my self, but I can imagine the joy you must have felt when your mother gave you the bottle with the note from the pastor in it.


Life is full of both joy and sadness I'm afraid my friend, and death is all part of any life :)

Wonderful! It is unbelievable to read such incident. It is natural for a child to have so many doubts about life. Later he will try to ignore those questions in his busy schedule. But the answer to our every question is kneel down and pray. Good work.

Hello Dean, Your poem is beautifully penned -- soft to the touch of the heart. All your verses quickly moved and kept my attention to the very end. I do love to read anything based on truth. Of special note:

Why did Jimmy's mommy have to join you in the sky?
Would you take me too if you knew that I made someone cry?

(The thoughts and fears of a child lie deep. Those two lines tugged on my heart.)

I also liked:

Send your burdens to me in prayer, I'll answer right away,
and when in doubt, don't spell it out, get on your knees and pray."

(This is so very, very true.)

And so ...
I had so many bottled thoughts
but once I knelt in prayer
I found my fears had disappeared.

This is a beautiful story in a poem Dean. You do have talents beyond the macabre. haha
I find comfort in prayer and it's wonderful to know we do get answers when we least expect them and sometimes in truly amazing ways. A touching and heartfelt message in this beautiful poem.

Hi Dean - what an incredible story in verse. Message in a bottle and getting a reply - how I envy you. You have told the story so well and I am envious that you got this wonderful reply. Many years ago we lived in the far east and put a message in a bottle and threw it into the South China Sea. I often wonder if anyone found it. Loved your poem and as always, the display. I like the way this poem rhymes and the way that you have chosen the two separate fonts. It is a very nice poem on how a young boys questions are answered. You were very fortunate, I have often asked similar questions but received no answers. Nice job. Jane
