We apparently elected a weak President who could care less about things overseas.
He seems to possibly concern himself with the Covid-19 virus disease?
...
But Al-Qaeda is real.
And, as it's ever been.
And, Yes!
We will not bend!

I enjoyed reading your 911 tribute regarding that time when Americas people were united because of the tragedy. What has happened since then? It is painful to see the social hostilities that have become a plague. We need to get back to the solidarity formed around the love of our country and the goodness it represents. The world has become so disturbing. I think your wonderful entry in the America the Beautiful contest is excellent. Best wishes!

9-11 remembered. A sad day and horrific event etched in our minds forever. Our hearts took a beating, an endless stab in the gut left haunt us, and nothing can bring the murdered Americans' back. But we must, and have, persevered to stand up and fight on against the evil injustices of the world. Thanks for sharing.

This chapter in the book, Reflections of Color, is an excellent choice to commemorate 9-11-2021. It brought tears to my eyes as I so well remember 9-12-2001, still reeling from the shock of 9-11 we gathered in the grocery stores, the gas stations, the back fences to discuss what in the world happened in a few short hours that brought us to our knees the day before. "Why?" was on everyone's lips...we weren't aware there was such deep ancient hatred of the West, us.
We got over our shock and licked our wounds and grew up as a Nation that day...
Forever changed our lives in the blink of an eye. Precious lives lost, we will NEVER forget.
Excellent lyrics, Brett! A grand tribute to heal from that terrible day. Your inspired last lines will remain in my head as a reply to those that thought they were going to take us down.
"The Star-Spangled Banner flies high above it all
There ain't no way this Country for you will ever fall
Your days of all this darkness will never come again
America is ready and she's strong enough to bend"
