this is a sad little piece of poetic art dear brett! realising that you love someone who loves you less, is a dumbfound situation. i have those feelings today with my fiancee.
thank you for sharing an impact!

this is such a sad tale, a common
one these days - so many couples
drift apart and move on with their
lives, often breading families up.
a well penned poem, the flow to the words,
and to both rhythm and rhyme smooth throughout, Brett.

True love is said to be blind but not passing infatuation. If both the partners are playing the love game for fun, the end is bound to be on the lines of your poem. One-upmanship does not pay in genuine relationships.

Ha,ha. Turn around is fair play. Oh, the lies men can tell. Good use of parallel structure in the last stanza. Subject is typical old fashioned country westerns sadness.

Hi Brett,
This is a really nice poem and was interesting to read. You sure are a talented man. I just wish the print had been a little larger as I have a hard time reading such tiny words.

Hi, Brett...
_ Indeed---nobody wins and everybody loses when cheating is involved.
_ No matter how one tries to dress it up.
_ Well penned and presented reality.
Cheers & Blessings

Love definitely is blind! Sometimes, forever just doesn't last. What a shot to the ego to know you're playing around and uh oh, she is doing it too. This reminds me of the country song Little Liar by Miranda Lambert.

Hello Brett,
The phone in that picture is 100 years old. :)
I really like~Takes One To Know One~ it tells a story that has happened to lovers from the beginning of time. This poem would make a cool country song. Good job!

Beautifully written in fine, articulate couplet rhyming which adds to the overall rhythm of this easy flowing, easy to read Work Its descriptive imagery plays a melody, and it makes its own story as it rolls along, telling a story of somebody wronged and the teller of the narrative paying the price. Nobody wins these games. Well done, good piece of poetic art, well done, Brett, blessings, Roy.
