This is an interesting piece. It flows nicely as it provides an interesting look at the flag (that's how I interpreted it any way). Thank you for the update on Brooke, I was wondering why I had not seen her work since I returned.
Good work and good luck.

This is a very patriotic poem coming from a heart in love with his country. This stanza make a great appeal to me: "freedom...for all
honored in United state of brotherhood
one Country colorful." How true. Nice work.

Hi Michael... this poem says a lot to me, (But as usual, I am never sure I'm catching the message you are wanting to throw out there.) I also very much enjoyed the music so I thought I should at least say hi and thank you. The poem is beautiful and rich in colors of the past and hope for the future.

" unusual to find Shroud of Turin"
special is a pioneer of first explorers
straight ahead waves exceptions bountiful spread....
America was never heard of before...bet against Her birth.
founded on the resurrection of a free society
honoring God and Country...the apple of the whole worlds eye in a "bigger" " Rocky" picture...."special"...-smile- "rare" ...and that's why I started it the way I did...that and its significance as representing the Christian principles and basic beliefs...not only "our" forefathers possessed , but also I would suggest most of the civilized world, then and today...-smile- Good to see you Meadow...love Michael

A very nice poem rich with patriotic images that invoke pride. I love the waving flag as your artwork. I'm glad to see people are raising money for Brooke's recovery. How sweet to step in as her extended family!
Take care,
Rhonda

Great poetry, freedom for all. All in one country. Lazarus born again and the resurrection. Pioneers and first explorers.

Thanks for this very lovely poem regarding Old Glory. Words cannot adequately describe the challenges of the first explorers. Yet, I wonder if they were alive today and could view the going-ons within our country - I cannot help but wonder if they would be proud, or shocked.
Thanks for sharing this. JW

Well...I think they'd feel like it was time to start again....and that it was going to be as challenging , if not more than the first time. Ready to sign their names to a declaration again.Amen...love Michael

Well, Mike, You've done it again. Yes, the flag still flies, free and proud, in spite of all the country's problems (and ours does too, and if you were to ask, I'd rather be here (Canada) than anywhere else - at least most of the time...LOL. The West Indies is tempting though...especially when it's -30C.)

Silly wabbit. Our leaders care? Yeah, about the $ they get as elected officials, AND all the perks. We HAVE problems, but it's the green grass on the other side that looks appealing to you perhaps...? LOL. :)

the Jews didn't really bury their dead, they embalmed them...then. Wrapped the body in bandages saturated with aloe and mirth. the "shroud" was ..is a cloth "napkin" placed over the face of Jesus, as was their custom of burial....people have been arguing its authenticity since its find...it gives us the first real image of our Lord in human form. Yes Sir, I'm aware those who have led US, have done so without concern for the well being of their own heritage and People...and I am one for their exposer, conviction and sentence before they face their Makers wrath...but "we" need each others support to do that...so "we" start by becoming "one" arm, voice of overwhelming power...and take back "our" freedom. thanks man. love Michael

She's old, at least by human standards
But her indomitable spirit looms large
And she sings, sings loud for her people
Her battle cry for true liberty
Hard earned freedom
Her presence is glorious
Full regale of red, white, and blue
She flies for the weary
and soars for equality
While she shrouds her men's sacrifice
She cries, cries for lost ideas
Ripped asunder by politicians
Whose history of blood, sweat and tears
they wish to rewrite
and ignore our forefather's strife
She waves for our children
Wanting to promise abundant life
Without carnage and fear
Where laughter resounds security
Among life's fever and fret
She floats above all crowds and harbor
Beckoning all to join her cause
To hold all values her men died for
And protect the very foundation
Built upon her shores
Her vision gleams brighter than stars
Wanting the hearts of all men to believe
That strength is in united numbers
To quieten all discord with strong and tender arms
And brace this world in peace
Within all turmoil
She remains aloft
Proudly proclaiming
Her sweet anthem of loyalty
Upholding her torch of God's liberty
She floats through rain or shine
Even when the darkest clouds
Want to dim her light
For careworn hearts will ne'er forget
The promise of Old Glory's fight
this is what you inspire my wonderful friend. much love and respect...

Amen...the vision, the ideal, the great American experiment made history more than interesting but a template for what all men can do purposed. I know "our" reason for being...has been manipulated and man handled into a strangle hold. but that's not HER...its not US, the Majority...the American people...only the greed that corrupts and enslaves those possessed by selfish motive for more than the last man standing...are responsible. they took "our" trust and betrayed US.....Traitors to their Country and men. May they live and die with their sin. loved you Michael

And I loved you too! What happened? lol. Watch those past tenses, could get you in a heap of trouble.
